Unresponsive service departmentservice
I called the service department twice over the last few days to schedule maintenance. I leave aa voice mail and NOBOdy calls me back. Key is very nice while you are writing a check for $85K but forget you when the check is cashed. I payed a lot of extra money for a service contract and I get ignored. I listed Friday as the date of service because this was my last attempt to call and get ignored

They are selling a bogus tax to you
We bought our GV70 about two weeks ago. Sticker price is sucker price, but my wife insisted she wanted this car, and they would not negotiate. Okay, fine. Get to the sales office and not only is sticker price the price, but they are adding a $1700 'paint and interior' protection plan- mandatory. This is important, because when I asked what does it protect, Amanda talked a bunch about interior stains. I wanted to know about exterior paint protection. I was given this big spiel about how it was comparable to a ceramic coating, and how the bugs, tree sap and dirt would just wipe away so easily. I was skeptical. And after ten day of ownership, it was time for its first wash. I detail cars as a side hustle. As soon as the water touched the paint, I knew I had been lied to. There is no additional paint protection: the water did not bead/sheet away, the bugs did not wipe away without chemicals, and a small piece or tree sap had to be removed the traditional way- with rubbing alcohol. They are selling you your factory installed clear-coat for an additional $1700. Please do not be fooled like I was. I have never felt as scammed as I did for this car purchase (and I have been buying cars for 30 years).

Key Genesis in Jacksonville is not your ally when it comes to warranty related issues. Also, Genesis "bumper to bumper" 5yr/60k warranty is not as comprehensive as Mercedes or even Ford's coverage.

I brought in my 3 year old G80 to have seat switch replaced that fell off while the car is still under warranty. Was told by the service manager that this appeared to be caused by abuse, so I would have to pay $611 to have it repaired. When I explained that the seat switch just fell off and any damage to the bracket was caused by there not being a cover to protect it, I was informed that the switch could only come off by using a tool to pry off. Basically a ludicrous and insulting suggestion that I intentionally vandalized my car.

I appealed this warranty claim to Genesis Customer Service, and was told that they couldn't help me since the dealer claimed that it was done through "outside influence". I'm truly shocked that
Genesis will not stand behind its products and workmanship. I'm basically through dealing with Key Hyundai Genesis, and will look for another dealer for service while I still own the vehicle. Other than this issue, I was very satisfied with the dealership staff from sales to service. I could only imagine how Key Genesis would advocate for me for anything that wouldn't be covered by warranty.

I've had similar issues with both Mercedes and Ford vehicles, and was never questioned. These repairs were promptly taken care of without any accusations. It is clear to me that Mercedes and Ford both stand behind their products while Genesis clearly does not. Am in the market for a replacement vehicle, and I have ruled out anything manufactured by Genesis, Hyundai or Kia.

To add further insult, I was sent a 10% off coupon to have the work done at my expense. For $550, I will leave the seat switch cover off as a reminder of this lack of customer service.

Best Genesis dealership in Jacksonville
Having never driven a Genesis before, our first experience was fantastic. Maurice, our sales person, was exceptionally knowledgeable about the entire Genesis fleet. He showed us several vehicles and we drove two of them. We left that day ready to do some serious research on Genesis. We went to another local Genesis dealer and were shocked to see that they had an added “inventory fee” of almost $10,000! When I spoke to the manager at this other dealership, I was told “all the dealerships are doing it because inventory is so low”. I told him that was not the case! We found a vehicle in another city that we were planning to go look at, but we decided to go back to Key Genesis one more time. Maurice was there and he helped me find exactly what I was looking for. We were not able to stay to wait to complete all of the paperwork, so they let us take the Genesis home and come back after the weekend! They gave me a more than fair price for my trade-in and we were actually able to get the vehicle for less thank MSRP (unlike the $10,000 up charge from the other place!). From start to finish, Key Genesis was professional and courteous. I have told all of my friends and family about my experience and about the amazing vehicles made by Genesis. The GV70 has everything I could have ever wanted in a vehicle and so much more things that I didn’t even know cars could do! Luxury, quality and technology combine to make this the nicest vehicle I have ever owned (and I have owned many luxury cars). I highly recommend the Genesis brand and Key Genesis!
