Terrible experience
Absolutely terrible experience with Genesis service and support.

I brought my Genesis in for warranty service. When they called me to pick it up, I immediately noticed a new issue — the car now makes a loud noise at around 65 mph, something that wasn’t there before. They eventually admitted that the noise wasn’t normal. That’s when the nightmare began.

It’s been over two months, and my car is still not fixed. I was told at one point they were waiting over a week for a Hyundai field technician (not even Genesis-specific) while the car just sat there with no progress. Apparently, there are only two field techs available in the entire country. Communication has been a disaster. I’ve had to chase them constantly with calls and emails, while Genesis customer care has even told me more than once that Genesis of Hickory isn’t responding to their own internal requests for updates.

And now, after all this time, they called to tell me to return the loaner and take back my car — still broken — because they “can’t fix it.” No solution, no compensation, no accountability. Just a “we give up” attitude for a vehicle that’s supposed to be premium.

This whole process has completely destroyed any confidence I had in the Genesis brand. If this is considered luxury service, it’s an absolute joke. My car now sounds and drives like a cheap economy model, and nobody at Genesis seems to care.

I would never recommend Genesis to anyone based on this experience — awful service, no transparency, and a total lack of responsibility.

Terrible Service
Instruments went crazy while driving to work. Pressed button for service was told they could send someone to get my car. THE NEXT DAY AT 8:30 am. Asked them if they wanted me to sleep all night in the car. Got the car back to the shop. They kept the car for a week and did not fix it. Said they did not know what was wrong with it. Showed pictures of the dash cluster.

Needs some improvement
Genesis has always been great for the last 4 years that I have owned the car. My service provider left the company and since then it has not gone as well. This last time, the parts were not there when I arrived, after a 50 minute drive. They offered to pick up my car instead of me driving there again. There was a problem twice with picking my car up from my home to get it worked on.

Genesis of Hickory provides very responsive, caring, and detailed service to customers. The Service Manager keeps me informed on what's going on with my car, what repairs/service it needs, and when service will be completed. Costs are service are always reasonable. Great place to visit, and everyone there knows my name!!

I have a 2018 Genesis G80 and difficultly scheduling service via Bluelink as well as Genesis Representative. States that Hickory Genesis didn’t participate in remote scheduling.

Pickup personnel was prompt and pleasant.
Service consultant called and wanted me to pay for the normal scheduled service before vehicle would be delivered. I was under impression that I had 36 months of free scheduled service as advertised when purchased car as well as in every Genesis TV Commercial. Representative stated this didn’t apply to me as vehicle wasn’t in my name? I will be returning vehicle that I’ve been paying which apparently not in my name
