Unscrupulous Business Practices - $900 Estimate for Warranty Repairs
Took my G80 in for first service (5K). It's an EV, so not much is needed, tire rotation, software updates and some inspections. Had three minor issues to check under warranty, intermittent problem with keyless entry, homelink and driver's door needed adjustment to close with the appropriate force, all items should be covered under new car warranty. I was presented with an estimate of $890 for diagnosis and repair IF the malfunctions were found to be outside of warranty coverage. I of course declined the repairs and diagnosis. As a 30 year veteran of the automotive industry, including a stint with Genesis of America, I have never seen or heard of a dealer proposing that a repair clearly covered under warranty will cost the customer nearly $1000. OUTRAGEOUS.
I love my G80 but stay clear of Genesis of Cary/ Johnson Genesis. I drove 3 hours away to buy my G80 due to poor sales experience, now I'll have to go to Hyundai to have my G80 serviced in the future.
