Timely and Responsive
Durango Automotive has been keeping my older car running beautifully for years--they are as invested as I am in a good outcome. This particular visit they listened with their usual attention to detail, corrected a problem that came up and turned my car around very quickly as I needed it for a trip. Owner and employees are personable and courteous.

left me with more problems than solutions...
I had my 2007 chevy equinox inspected and quoted for repairs because I have an oil leak. I was pleased that this automotive repair shop was able to take my car in last minute, and that I was able to receive my car back the same day, and that they properly informed me with pictures of what was wrong. I choose not to go with any repairs as I was tight on schedule and leaving town the next day. HOWEVER when I first got my car back the my stabilitrack service light had turned on (which was not on before) and as I continued to drive my engine was idling more rough than before. I had to stop at another shop in Cortez to get it checked again and they noticed that part of my 'EGR sensor' was unplugged (this sat on top on my engine, over the engine cover and was very noticeable at first glance). we plugged it back in and it seemed to fix this problem. No excuse for this careless 'put back together of my engine/engine cover'

this was disappointing service I received, and costed me about $160. Do I expect a refund or partial refund because of this inconvenience they caused me? Yes.

I *had high expectations
I've heard from several people that Durango Automotive formerly known ad Durango Muffler was a great mechanic. *But, In my experience, I brought my 2016 Jeep Cherokee in 10/10/24 and unfortunately I had to tow it to the Jeep Dealership 02/10/24 because the car wouldn't run. TJ(owner) and his staff seemed knowledgeable enough and was cordial with me yet I dropped several thousand dollars into my Jeep and mechanically speaking it's in GREAT shape. So then... why can't I drive it you ask? "Must be an electrical issue" my technician said, but we may never know since most of D.A.R's staff were fired or quit so, now woth some fresh sets of eyes we do some electrical work and still it powers up but the engine doesn't turn over. So, in summary, I paid thousands of dollars for a vehicle i STILL can't drive because of a mystery left unsolved and all the while my feelings of suspicion that "they're taking ME for a ride" destroyed my highest expectations for this mechanic.

Hi Shane, we do apologize for the frustration being without your vehicle for so long. When your vehicle was first brought in for the starter in August, we did advise you of what the tech found regarding the failing alternator and that the pulley was rubbing case of alternator and causing an intermittent knocking noise in engine compartment. When the alternator goes bad it can cause an electrical surge which we believe may have fried the TIPM and PCM. We did replace the TIPM that you provided us, but you never gave us the authorization to replace the PCM or bring in the part to us. We do believe the fault at this point lies in the PCM, again due to the electrical surge from the alternator. We understand going without your Jeep for months is not ideal, but there was a good amount of time spent waiting on your approval, supplying us parts, and waiting for funds. I'm sorry that you felt you had to get your vehicle towed to Morehart, and we do wish you the best of luck in getting your jeep running again.
