I brought my truck in for a straightforward starter relay repair. Instead, it sat on the lot for approximately four months. I was told the shop was very busy, and I relied on that explanation longer than I should have.
During this time, the truck was left outside with the hood open in all weather. A new battery was installed and I was charged for it. Despite this, the shop was ultimately unable to get the truck running again and stopped attempting to resolve the issue.
I had the truck towed to another mechanic. The new shop diagnosed the issue quickly: the truck needed additional fuel to start, and the battery that had been installed was low quality and needed to be replaced.
I understand older diesel trucks can be challenging, but the extended delay, outdoor exposure, inability to resolve the problem, and charges for ineffective work were disappointing. I expected better care and communication.
