We understand how a $165 charge for what appeared to be three lug nuts would be concerning. To clarify, the service you approved was to address a critical safety issue. The wheel stud threads were found to be damaged upon arrival, making a simple installation impossible and unsafe.

The charge primarily covers the specialized labor to chase the threads, a meticulous process to correct this pre-existing damage and restore the stud. This essential repair ensures your wheel is securely fastened and safe for the road.

By performing this precise repair, we were able to avoid the much more complex and costly procedure of replacing the entire wheel hub, which also preserved your existing wheel bearing.
