Dishonest Service Department
The service department at Central Auto Group is dishonest. Seeing the big “Ford” sign out front, I brought my car there because the brake lights were intermittently out. I told them that we thought it needed a new brake light switch because when my husband manipulated the brake light switch, the lights would come on, but then they would go out again. They decided the problem was the inhibitor switch instead and said they replaced that. But, the brake lights were out again before I made it out of the parking lot. So they took it back and said they replaced the brake light switch but that the lights were still out, and I would have to bring it to a Ford dealer. (Their Ford sign is still there.). The actual Ford dealer I went to next replaced the brake light switch with an aftermarket switch because the switch is no longer available from Ford. They gave me the part they replaced pointing out where the contacts were worn. It was not a new switch. So Central lied at least about replacing the brake light switch. To their credit, they did not charge for the $23-switch. But they caused me to have to pay much more to a different dealer for the extra work they had to do since I told them that the switch had already been replaced. And they do not return any phone calls to speak about this.
