I called and asked quote for a vacuum pump to be replaced. I was given $2050. I drop off my car. I get the call that car needs to be diagnosed. $370. On top of the original quote. I ok the diagnosing. I get the call that not only pump but oil pump as well needs to be changed and it will be $3950. I ask why? Well, the oil pump is $1500 more. I hate it when I am treated as I am stupid. I asked who quoted you the oil+vacuum pump. Vague answer. I told them where to buy it, for how much ($430 for the oil+vacuum integrated pump=one unit). Well, the screws are aluminum and one time use, so we need to replace those as well. What? extra $2000 for this job? An $80,000 german car has oil pan affixed with aluminum screws. I hate it when they treat me as if am stupid. We finally agreed to do the job for $2780. Last time I took my car there. Mechanic admitted it was not a hard job. I call it an easy ripoff. Job required oil change, and car had when I picked it up 3 bars worth of oil out of 5. Is that one quart short? I never put oil in any of my cars and call job done until I measure oil. I doubt they did. I live in Col Springs, and need it ride to get it to this place and pick it up as well. If it was in town I would have never let them do the job. I saw the Bosch service and fell for the place. I keep being told it is not the brand, it is the people who represent it.
