STAY AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN ….Today I got really rip-off (Amoco in Clearwater) I when to these guys because they could fix it now ….First lie 5 days later and $3100, they had some great reviews …What a mistake #2, I had stopped in a local Transmission shop by me and was told that (ALL I NEEDED WAS a shift solenoid & maybe a filter) but they couldn’t get to it until next week …this vehicle is my work truck and needed it ASAP…So I know I should have just waited –…but the guys at Amoco seemed to be a trustworthy shop …Mistake #3 ….Frist thing I drove the truck into the shop and wanted them to check it and replace shift solenoid & filter …He quoted me between $1700 and $3500 I told him I was willing to go for $1700 but no higher …being the other place said $1200 total …so a day later they call and informed me it was going to cost $3100 and the tyranny had to be overhauled (NOTE- I DROVE IT IN) I told him that was a little high and would like to have another estimate done ..His responses were OK… I can put the tyranny parts in a box and you can tow it away ..What!!!! ….. he said the tyranny has too many “broken Parts” and he could not put it back together (AGAIN I DROVE IT IN) I asked him to just replace the shift solenoid & Filter his reply was no can’t do the tyranny has to many broken parts (AGAIN I DROVE IT IN) SO the bottom Line These guys are a rip-off shop they only wanted to overhaul it …their game is to outright lie to you and right to your face that you need more then is needed… When I left the shop and my truck ..I stood outside the place for a few minutes and really wanted to just go back in and get the truck and wait for the local place to do it…I didn’t Mistake #4 ….Should have gone with my gut feeling ….these guys are just a rip-off shop ..I did get the shift solenoid & filter replaced and a whole lot of other items I don’t even think was needed, So if you want a trustworthy shop to work on your car or truck DO NOT GO HERE
