Unfortunately I had major repairs done on my Sonata. I have to thank Roger for explaining the situation with kindness and empathy to soften the blow. He also requested that the repair be expedited as quickly as possible. Oh, and the warm chocolate chip cookies, hot coffee and clean waiting area were a bonus.

Good again
Work was done well by the crew. Only problem is the computer keeps calling me the part is in and wants an appointment. Problem is job was already done. I told the girl I called to unplug the compute and reboot it.

I went in for a major repair and Cheryl Buck was my advisor. I was so worried about what was going to happen but Cheryl kept me in the loop and helped get my repair covered. They had a loaner available and I was able to keep it the whole time my car was in the shop. I believe I had the car for about a week. I purchased my 2011 sonata from a used car dealership where I live. Within a month the motor blew up while I was driving. The dealer said that there was nothing that they could do to help. I took the car to Hyundai of Saint Augustine just to get it checked out. Danny took it in and discovered there was a recall for it. He told me it could take up to 2 months to resolve the issue. This was on a Friday. Well, Monday came and Danny called to inform me the Hyundai said they would honor the recall even though the car was past the mileage extension. Tuesday, Danny called back and informed me the car was FIXED. Thank you Danny for your hard and expeidant work.

So far so good
BSD system shut itself down 4 times. Technician said no codes but had recall for shifter inhibitor switch so he did that and re calibrated the BSD module, said it was out of calibration. So far so good.

People that care make all the difference.
Although I had purchased an extended warranty on a vehicle with 61,000 miles, when the engine failed and the warranty claim was denied, the St. Augustine Hyundai service team lead by Cheryl Buck leapt into action. A brand new 2018 loaner was provided. Technicians Keith and Bill went over the specifics. Mr. DeFeo, the owner weighed in. Result? Hyundai replaced the engine, the turbo charger, O2 sensor, gaskets, etc. all at no cost.
I am aware that over 1.2 million GDI 2.0T engines have been recalled by Hyundai, GM and other manufacturers. And some might complain about issues with GDI engines and engineering or design flaws, but when the vehicle performs so fine and service issues are handled so deftly, how can I possibly do anything other than commend this fine dealership, this brand and the people. And hats off to Paul Smathers for finding the exact, right vehicle and Jack McQueen for assisting in the seamless contract and financing arrangements.

Great and Prompt Service
I did not have reservations but I was in a bad place! I had a very important appointment but I was afraid to make the trip because of my car’s problems. Without an appointment at St. Augustine Hyundai, I showed up and they examine dry car and informed me that I could manage to make the trip even if smy power steering pump failed and made an appointment for me to have it replaced a few days later. I made my appointment and came back to have the repair work done.
