Local dealership wanted to do a lot of repairs in what I believe was an attempt to get me to just buy
a new car. Checked with German Drive and they found the source of the issue, repaired it for 1/4 of the quoted price for the dealership and now I'm happily vacationing 1200 miles away after driving said car and getting excellent mileage! Went from thinking I'd have to figure out how to buy a new car to getting to keep my beauty (Benz GL550 with over 150k miles).

You can rely on Dino at Greg’s Automotive Service (GAS) to carefully diagnose your automotive problem
BEFORE proposing a solution. For example, the driver’s side window of my car stuttered several times before finally closing. This was especially irritating when I needed to lock and park the car but had to wait for the window to stutter several times before closing.
When I took my car to the dealership for a repair estimate, I was told that the electric motor and all mechanical components associated with had to be replaced. The cost of doing so would be about $600.
When I took the car to GAS, Dino diagnosed the problem and concluded that lubricating the mechanical components would likely solve the problem. The cost of doing that was about $550 less than the dealership's solution. The window's worked perfectly for years now.
GAS’ ability to diagnose a problem closely before offering solutions happened again when I took my car in for a loud whirring sound it made at highway speeds. The dealership proposed replacing both bearings. Dino proposed replacing only the noisy one.
Finally, when I began hearing a rattling sound under the hood, GAS isolated the problem to one of the gears driven by the serpentine belt. Rather than replace the all the gears and the belt, GAS took the time to isolate and then replace the one offending gear.
When my cars aren’t under factory warranty, I will always take them to GAS. To do otherwise would be foolish. I suggest you take your cars to Greg’s Automotive Service, too.
