Good car with some gear issues

The drive and features of my Hyundai Tucson are great but I've had an instant where the car would start and I can change the gear but the car did not move. I had to get the car towed to a service centre to get it fixed. I've also had issues where my vacant put the car in reverse and the gear goes back to Parking.

Nice features and bad features!

Like the car - the drive, the features and the value. But some of the safety features need to be programmable so you can turn them on and off. Sometimes the safety features actually create a VERY UNSAFE environment.

Nice drive. Mostly nice features.

Nice drive; mostly nice features. Some features are a real drawback - like some of the safety features that cannot be turned off and become a safety HAZARD. For example, the feature to look at your eyes and make sure you are watching the road. Can not see through all sunglasses. I have been driving on the interstate with sunglasses on and all of a sudden the car turns off the cruise control and we start pulling to the side of the road! I will sometimes drive down my 0.2 mile drive way with the back gate open ..... I learned the car actually puts on the brakes and when I got to the house I could smell the hot brakes. These safety features need to be able to turn them on and off - else they become UNSAFE!

A great car with a few niggling quirks.

Overall, I am VERY happy with my Tucson. However, there are a number of annoying nits that lower me to a 4/5. 1- The ability to select dashboard themes is filtered by driving mode. WHY??? 2- The front emergency braking is WAY too harsh and has almost caused an accident twice. It should disable if, for example, I am accelerating. 3- The rear seating door bins are beyond useless. My kids’ water bottles do not even fit. 4- The software updates need to be better vetted. My car has an ECO mode. After the most recent OTA update the menus still say “ECO,” but the dashboard now says “Green.” 5- The manual is incomplete. I was very frustrated to discover that, per the manual, there is no way to open the sunroof shade without also opening the glass. Only after googling did I discover the older Yucson used to have this feature, which apparently works on my car. 6- Why can’t I use the seat memory settings why driving? This is just a stupid feature lockout. While driving I may notice that a different position is more comfortable, but unless I remember to reset my start memory when I stop it is lost. Also, I like having multiple seating positions can I can changes my position on a longer drive. Locking these buttons out prevents me from being able to do this.

Very happy with my purchase!

All the options and technology is appealing. The vehicle is comfortable, plenty of cargo and people room. It drives and rides nice, not to mention 36-37 mpg.

All in all I like it but too much technology

Pros Good gas milage Comfortable Cons Key fob is ridiculously large Too much technology, give me buttons/knobs, not a touch screen/panel Doesn't remember drive mode, MyMode, have to reset every time I drive Touch panel lighting is too dim, no way to adjust it

Interesting car, full of tech and decent mileage.

Owned for 1 year and so far I am happy with features. Would like better mileage compared to other Hybrids. Would have liked folding side mirrors and other features for price of this model

Enjoy driving Touson!

I enjoy driving this lovely vehicle. On a highway, I use adoptive cruise control and lane keep assist. It feels like self driving.

Upscale Features for Decent Price

I really like this car. It's comfortable and quite. Smooth drive with good acceleration. I drive a lot and I look forward to driving. This car is just easy. The interior is sleek and feels very upscale. I wish that my trim had the option to NOT have the sun roof, it's challenging to find an SUV without this feature in this size SUV for 2025 because I considered several of the competitors. My two complaints are that I think the interior heater is slow to warm up. I also HATE the key fob. It is huge and not sleek. I'd prefer it was slim and more simple. It's awkward size to fit in your pocket.

Camera Spies on Driver; Makes Cruise Control Inoperable

Nice car unless you prefer to no not be monitored by a camera that will cause warnings to ding and flash and tell you to take a break or just turn off the cruise control because you’re wearing sunglasses.
