I had been given free-wash coupons for Ultimate Shine by Wallace's service department after multiple trips back and forth with a vibration, only to find there were two bad tires. It took arguing and becoming extremely frustrated before they agreed I shouldn't have to purchase a new set of tires within the first month of owning a 152-point inspection, Certified Pre-Owned Subaru.
After arguing with the used car manager about the paint peeling off, I took it up with a general sales manager. I was contacted a week later by the used car manager and told that it would be taken care of, that it wasn't normal for them to do this, and they were doing it on "good faith." He then proceeded to tell me that the Wallace Collision Center was backed up (they weren't) and he had "a guy" in town who could do it quicker. They gave me a loaner, kept it almost a week, and when I got it back, the clear coat was terrible, and they had painted 1/4" up onto the black wheel trim. When I showed him how terrible the job was, he told me there was nothing he could do for me and repeated that it was done as a courtesy to begin with.
I drove it straight down to Wallace Collision Center and had them look at it. They immediately noticed how terrible it was, and when I explained the situation, I was provided an estimate ($2,300) and told they would be talking to the owner to make sure I was taken care of. The following week I received another call from the used car manager who said they'd have it taken care of according to the estimate I was given and I would receive another loaner for the 2 weeks it would take. The collision center did a fantastic job and were extremely courteous. In other words, Wallace Collision Center had my back better than the dealership.
Hopefully, we won't have to deal with any more issues on our CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED SUBARU from Wallace of Bristol.
