BEWARE! This dealership does not accept the VW Service Credit Card, which is sponsored and advertised by the parent company. This is a fact which will not be disclosed until you are confronted by the "cashier-with-a-'tude" when paying your bill. Nowhere on the VW South Coast website or publically posted in their service write-up / cashier area is it stated that the VW sponsored credit card is not accepted. While all other VW dealerships in Orange County accept this form of payment, a large automotive corporation which owns VW South Coast has chosen to reject.
If you have an issue presenting this form of payment you are told to "see the Service Manager", who will repeat multiple times to the point of annoyance, "We don't take that card." When confronted with the statement that this is the customer's preferred and only method of settling the service repair bill and that "We have a problem", the service manager's response was "No, you have to find a way to pay the bill." There was no "Let's see if we can work out a different solution" or "We do have another type of credit card that the dealership endorses. Let us help you apply for that one." The resulting attitude is whatever problem exists is yours and yours alone and get out of my office.
If you are looking for the total ownership experience at VW South Coast you will not find it here. This is "slash and burn" dealership. If everything goes the dealership's way, life is great. But at the first hint of an issue the attitude changes to "Do I know you?"
The write up experience is good and their technical expertise appears to be competent. However, if you anticipate any type of an issue from being out of warrant by a day, scheduling conflicts or payment options, you really need to assess whether you want to risk being abused by this dealership and their customer service challenged personnel. If they can't get along with the brand they represent, what makes you think they will be in favor of resolving your issue(s) in a fair and impartial manner. Buyer beware.
