Loyal Customer — Searching for a New Shop
I have been going to Tony for many years and have had four different vehicles serviced there. Unfortunately, over the last few years, I have become increasingly disappointed with the level of service.

Approximately a month and an half ago, I brought in my vehicle in because of an oil leak. I was charged approximately $5,000 for repairs. After getting the vehicle back, it continued to leak oil. Shortly thereafter, my low coolant warning came on while driving home from work, and I had to add coolant just to safely make it home.

I brought the vehicle back, expecting that at least the continuing oil leak would be addressed under the shop's 90-day warranty. Instead, I ultimately paid approximately another $3,000 for additional repairs.

What was particularly frustrating was learning that the original source of the oil leak had not been correctly identified. I was initially told the crankshaft seal was defective and needed to be replaced. I was later told that the seal itself was not defective and that the crank pulley was actually causing the damage. This resulted in additional repairs, time without my vehicle, and a total cost of approximately $8,000 over the course of what began as an oil-leak repair.

I understand that vehicles can have multiple problems and that diagnoses are not always straightforward. However, after being a loyal customer for more than a decade, I am extremely disappointed that I spent approximately $5,000 on the initial repair only to have the vehicle continue leaking oil and then incur thousands more in costs as the diagnosis changed.

The customer service surrounding the final bill was also disappointing. After unexpectedly facing another approximately $3,000 in repairs, I asked whether there was any flexibility with payment arrangements and was told there was not. I also asked whether I could leave the vehicle overnight and pick it up the following day, but was told I needed to retrieve it, despite receiving a message stating that storage fees would not begin until the vehicle had been left for 48 hours. After being a loyal customer for more than a decade and spending approximately $8,000 on these repairs, I expected a little more flexibility and consideration.
