I am taking the time to express my great displeasure and disappointment with Andrew and Ultimate European Repair.
When I first brought my car to Andrew, he said the valve cover ($390.09) and oil pan ($900.24) gaskets were leaking oil and needed to be repaired. After he worked on these two things, the car continued to leak oil and I brought it back to him. At that time, he told me it was the oil filter housing gasket, but he never mentioned a cracked valve cover. I now had my reservations about him and his work.
While having the oil filter housing gasket repaired at an independent shop, I was advised that my valve cover was leaking oil. When I attempted to make an appointment with Ultimate European for warranty work, I got treated like a second-class citizen. The day I dropped off the car, I continued to be treated like a second-class citizen. Andrew was aware of all this and made no effort to make things right.
Andrew advised me that the actual valve cover was damaged and needed to be replaced. I was exasperated knowing that he previously put a new gasket on a damaged valve cover. Now I was out $390.09. With his extensive 15-year experience, there was no excuse for him to put a new gasket on a damaged valve cover. Andrew gave me an exorbitant estimate to have the valve cover replaced. This was an unscrupulous tactic to generate a higher repair bill. This was a complete slap in the face. First, he puts a new gasket on a damaged valve cover and now he tells me I have a damaged valve cover. This was inexcusable and unacceptable.
I took his exorbitant estimate and had an independent shop fix his sloppy work. Thereafter he emailed me a hollow apology. In the same email he stated anything regarding the oil pan to bring it back to him because he stands by his warranty. This would be a farce.
My oil pan continued to leak oil and for a third time returned to Andrew under the protection of the warranty. On this visit Andrew attempted to charge me $72 and change for potential warranty work. I refused to pay him this absurd and unjustified amount.
His warranty clearly states it is an unprecedented 3 year / 60,000-mile warranty guarantee. Not a conditional 3 year / 60,000-mile warranty guarantee. This nickel and dimeing by him were about as petty as one can get. After endless pushback from Andrew, he agreed to fix my oil leak. This would not occur.
I got my car back and it was still leaking oil. He did not fix one oil leak. I decided to cut my losses and moved on. In total Andrew ripped me off $1,290.33.
The whole experience with Ultimate European has been dishonesty, pushback, and unprofessionalism. Keep your hard-earned money and go somewhere else.
