extremely disappointed with service department in terms of both the car service and the customer support provided
I am extremely disappointed with Car service department in terms of both the car service and the customer support provided at Tustin Hyundai.
I had my Hyundai Santa Fe 2022 model car serviced at Tustin Hyundai on 5/4/2023 for the regular 10K miles service. I observed that post the service, my car mileage has gone down substantially. Prior to the service my car mileage was around 22 to 23 miles per gallon (city), but after the service the mileage had reduced to only 17 - 18 mpg (city). I did observe the mileage for a couple of weeks post service and I booked an appointment with Tustin Hyundai again on 5/23/2023 to check for the mileage. The below issues were reported on 5/23/2023, however, nothing was fixed.
1. Fuel level going down fast. Drove 25 miles and the car display shows as driven 100 miles in a day. Tustin Hyundai was unable to duplicate the fuel level decreasing issue and closed it without fixing.
2. Vehicle pick up has gone down post 10K service. Vehicle is dragging, resulting in more fuel consumption. Tustin Hyundai was unable to duplicate the lack of power issue and closed it without fixing.
3. Android Auto not functioning properly and map is not getting displayed in the panel. Works intermittently. When trying to select maps in display, the menu option gets displayed instead of the map. Again this issue was also not resolved and Tustin Hyundai service department was not able to recreate the issue again and closed the issue without fixing it.
I was requested by an agent from Tustin Hyundai to observe the car for few more weeks and return back to them if issue still persists.
As requested, I observed the car for few more weeks, and again booked a service appointment on 6/15/2023 with the same 3 issues as stated above. Again, Tustin Hyundai was unable to recreate or duplicate the issue and closed the request without fixing my concerns.

Adding to the above, I observed one more issue with the car recently. The right rear tire is losing pressure very fast. Seems that there is some air leakage in the right rear tire. I called up Tustin Hyundai and stated that this issue is critical as the tire might blow up if not attended immediately. The customer service member from Tustin Hyundai was not helpful or friendly and she mentioned that we cannot prioritize this and that I need to take an appointment for this, atleast a week later from today (8/11/2023). Not sure why customer support team from Tustin Hyundai is so aweful.

I need help in fixing the below issues at the earliest possible:
1. Check the car engine and mileage need to be improved.
2. Car pickup is not good and experiencing dragging while driving.
3. Software issue - Maps not getting displayed in the infotainment system
4. Software issue - Intermittent issue while reading USB
5. Software issue - Tire pressure not getting displayed in the digital odometer panel
6. Issue with right rear tire. The other 3 tires psi are 35, while the right rear tire psi dropped to 12 psi. Possible air leak and the psi level keeps reducing. Screenshots can be provided upon request.

Excellent experience
Yesterday I made my first major purchase since becoming a widow. Only if you have experienced that would you understand the anticipation of doing that. But what a wonderful experience it was. My salesman, CARLOS, was beyond helpful and understanding. He helped me make decisions when I asked, and offered suggestions or advice when he knew I was seeking experienced wisdom. He was never pushy on the sales, giving me time to come to my own decisions. He turned what could have been a nervous situation for me into one of joyful excitement. I got the Kona of my dreams and left with no buyers remorse. I highly recommend this dealership and CARLOS.

Called for information. Operator transferred me to the Service Dept. right away. I was on hold for 19 minutes and then they hung up on me! Won't be calling that dealership any longer.

I called the dealership and luckily they had the car I was looking for available for the same day pick up! Michael Shiehg has assisted me throughout the entire process from getting the insurance to explaining every detail about the car. The entire process took less than an hour. Joe spent a full afternoon showing us various models, taking us for a test drive and answered all our questions. He then spent a full morning with us explaining every detail with knowledge and patience. Recall service for ABS system in Santa Fe
I would just like to compliment those working today in the customer service department/service department trailer. I especially would like to compliment the young lady who was working in this heat, directing everyone on where to go. I think she was working outside, organizing the cars and the order they would be worked on.
She truly deserves a raise. I didn’t really know where I was supposed to drop my car off when I first pulled up, yet the girl working immediately acknowledged me and made me feel seen. She did this even while she was directing a huge flat bed tow truck, inches away from me, that was trying to back out of the lot.
I arrived around noon and the dealership was busy, and super hot outside. I would not be able to work there, especially during the construction, and especially during a recall.
Inside the service department trailer, everyone was very nice and polite, too. I appreciate you all! Thank you for being so organized and for having a great attitude, especially in this heat, and especially during your dealer’s renovation & construction.

Quickest poor service I've ever received
I'm a 1st time Hyundai owner, If I had to base my future business with this dealership on my VERY FIRST phone call to them, I'm pretty sure I'd choose another dealership. The girl who answered the phone in the service department was so short and rude with me and kept talking over me... she just didn't have time for any questions... then when I managed to get one in, her response was so condescending as if I had some nerve to ask for the details that she seemingly didn't have time to include. In keeping up with her hastily ways, she spoke so quickly that I genuinely didnt even know what she asked me... when I told her that she was speaking too quickly and I didnt understand what she said, she slowed it way down in a very sarcastic manner. Sorry to have bothered you at WORK Desiree... apologies that I had to bother you with my questions and major apologies that my car has a recall and that I would like to be able to open ALL 4 of the doors so had to inquire about the remaining warranty. I guess I should have tried to find out the original purchase date of the USED vehicle that I just bought in order to figure out if I still had any warranty left and I should have researched Hyundai's 2nd owner warranty information somehow before I called. So sorry to have inconvenienced YOU! You are a poor representation of this dealership that I have not even stepped foot into yet... as a new Hyundai owner, you certainly did not give me a great first impression or any level of confidence in friendly/efficient service I will receive if I choose to keep my appointment there. Alienating customers before they are actually customers, isn't a great business practice... perhaps you should brush up on those customer service skills.

I just wanted to take a time to write about the exceptional services that I have been encountered at Tustin Hyundai. I have had my Hyundai for last 5 years, and the most of time the service representative has been David. One thing that I could counted on with David is that he always provide exceptional customer service each and every time. Due to long commute, I have recently decided to purchase Tesla which means no more service require at Hyundai. However, I am considering purchasing Ev Hyundai in few years because of exceptional service that I have encountered in last 5 years. Hyundai is very reliable car and very good service program. Two thumbs up for David. Thank you.

I bought a new car and did not expect problems. I was hoping to get 300 miles on a charge but ended up only getting 220. I took it to the service dept but they could not tell me what was wrong. So they bought the car back. Now I am left with no car. I was hoping the car would last me into retirement. It just created headaches.

Good Service—Just Some Issues With Enterprise
Check-in was fast and the employees were very nice and helpful. The temporary modular set up due to construction isn’t ideal, but there was still room in the waiting area and it was clean. Total service took less time than I expected, especially since they had to check out 3 recalls in addition to my vehicle’s service. The only issue I had was with Enterprise. I had to wait 45 minutes for an Enterprise representative to come over so I could get a rental car.
