On July 4 weekend I was traveling to WV with my two grandchildren. While traveling near Salem, VA my cars transmission started acting up we pulled over and then the car wouldn’t go in reverse and would not shift properly. We were from out of town it was a holiday weekend and late Friday. I goggled transmission shops nearby and read the good reviews for Transmission Clinic in Salem and it was only about 8-10 miles from us. I called and spoke to them and they were very helpful and arranged a wrecker to come get us and stayed late until the car was towed to them. John and his staff helped us transfer all of our luggage into their personal vehicles and gave us a ride to a local hotel. The next day we rented a vehicle and continued on our trip to WV.
We returned to Salem, VA on Monday July 4 and stayed another day to hear the outcome on my car. John said he would let us know something when they opened Tuesday morning and he called and gave us the news we would need a rebuilt transmission in my car. Yes it was a major repair and after checking into many options we decided to get it repaired at Transmission Clinic in Salem. John and his staff ordered the part and it took 3 weeks to get the part in but they kept me informed and had my vehicle operational when they promised.
The rebuilt transmission came with a great warranty and the job was done right and my car was as good as new and back in SC. John and his staff went above and beyond to help us out and treated us like family. It is rare today to find such a honest and trustworthy repair place and cost were equivalent to having my car fixed locally. I highly recommend them to anyone. Outstanding service and great staff!!
