Thank you from all of us Jorge, and extra thanks from Casey! We were glad to help with that inspection and VERY glad to keep your family off the road with an unsafe car!
We wish you all the best with that Dealer but I think your situation offers a lesson for other folks in the car market… the single wisest thing anyone can do when buying a used vehicle is to get a PRE-PURCHASE INSPECTION! Don’t settle for a CarFax and don’t take the Seller’s word, go get it inspected by a qualified shop (with no relationship to the Seller) BEFORE you buy. An inspection would the show any gross safety or mechanical concerns, and might also uncover small issues that could mean expensive repairs. But doing it BEFORE you buy means you don’t have to dance and negotiate afterwards with someone who has already shown they’re willing to take your money for a dangerous lemon. Many sellers, both Dealers and private parties (perhaps understandably) won’t part with the vehicle for the full day many shops would need for a full inspection. But there are mobile inspection companies we recommend that can come to you (or the seller) and do the inspection there. DO NOT BUY FROM ANYONE that will not let you get a competent inspection… run the other way, and consider yourself lucky you avoided an unsafe or expensive mistake!
Thanks again Jorge, and when you do get your situation sorted out we look forward to helping you care for whatever newer, more reliable vehicle you buy.
I can’t recommend this shop enough. Honest folks, and very dependable.
My car was so bad; they didn’t even charge me for the inspection!!
