When you returned with concerns about fluid being on the right side of your vehicle, we inspected the vehicle together and found no evidence that brake fluid had been sprayed onto it. The brake fluid reservoir is on the complete opposite side of the vehicle from the area in question, and nothing we did exposed the vehicle to brake fluid. Using parts cleaner to remove oil residue under the hood during automotive service is also a common and appropriate shop practice, and nothing was damaged by doing so.
The mirror damage was cosmetic and did not appear related to our work and could have been environmental. Nevertheless, we offered to replace the approximately $60 mirror cover and have the vehicle completely detailed as a goodwill gesture because we valued you as a customer. That offer was not an admission of responsibility.
We stand behind our work, take our customers seriously, and will always take responsibility when we cause a problem. Unfortunately, in this case, we simply could not accept responsibility for something we did not cause. We’re sorry you left feeling this way and genuinely wish you the best.
