Michael WeaverMr. Berggren, I am sorry you feel you had a bad experience at The Car Place but I am compelled to respond. We had two unfortunate circumstances with your Patriot, both out of our control: the technician assigned to look at you car went home at lunch time the day you dropped it off (was scheduled to inspect after lunch) with severe pains. Turned out it was kidney stones and he was oiff Tuesday as well. We did get to your car on Wednesday, diagnosed with a bad intake air control valve. The actuator had recently been replaced by someone else (obviously trying to fix this issue). We confirmed that the valve itself was stuck and that the intake manifold needed to be replaced. After searching my suppliers it was determined that none offered an aftermarket manifold and it would heve to come from the dealer. My dealer for Jeep parts searched it for me only to find that the intake was on National backorder. There were none available, none in the pipeline scheduled to be produced and about 60 on backorder to be fulfilled.
I advised you of the situation, that we provided the diagnosis but could not effect a repair without parts. You then asked me to put the car together so you could pick it up, not repaired, which we did.
We charged you 1.5 hours for CEL scan, inspection and diagnosis. A whopping $145.35, even though we had quite a bit more time invested. Our feedback score has been 4.9 since day one, for good reason.
I feel your negative review was both unreasonable and un-warranted.
