Hello sir,
We understand you are frustrated. You have a unique situation going on with your car. You originally brought your car in because O'Reilly hooked a scanner to it and it said the stop switch, abs light, battery voltage low and ECM wasn't reading.
What you paid for so far was for us to address the brake light switch, battery voltage low and the ECM not reading. When I (The Owner) spoke to you on the phone, you mentioned to me about a long crank situation, which we had not encountered. I also mentioned that the the ABS Module needed more in depth diagnostics. I told you that the ABS module and Air Bag module had intermittent shorts. We had diagnosed it up to the body control module but would lose power to the modules from the BCM intermittently and it happened so fast that our computer couldn't even read the code fast enough. I told you on the phone that it could be a bad ground wire, or a short in the ABS module harness or an internal issue with the ABS module and that I could quote the ABS module. But that we really needed the vehicle back for more time to track it down. Then when you showed up, I walked to your car after I heard it long crank. I had told you in person (again ME, The Owner) it hadn't done that to us. And I told you when you could, bring it to us and we can look into that while we are looking at the ABS and Air Bag module issue. If I misunderstood the situation, I apologize, but in order to figure it out, we would need more time with it. You also had a history code for fuel system running lean, but was not an active code. I would assume that has something to do with the long crank. But we would need to look into that more also.
But you paid a $130 diagnostics fee for 2 hours of diagnostics and we fixed the majority of what was on your initial vehicle complaint. Unfortunately, we'd need it longer to track down the other issues. Vehicle electronics are very in depth diagnostics and require special tools, which we have and it is time consuming. And yes, it would cost for our time and equipment to figure it out. Again, I apologize for the misunderstanding. I thought you were going to bring it back in. That is why I didn't quote the ABS module. Which quoting it would have been worst case scenario, but I honestly don't think that is the root problem.
Thank you
