Let my car die on the side of the road.
On 8Jul2020 I took my 2007 STI to their service department to address a few issues with my car. My intent was to have preventive repairs done so all the noises my car makes don't become expensive noises. After pointing at my AC belt pulley where a bearing noise had been coming from, i was told there wasn't an issue and i almost had to force the service writer to investigate the noise. After that i was quoted a few prices but i damn near had to beg just to get that. All the prices were "go away" prices ($1,500 for my front brakes alone..). He also didnt charge me for having my car all day. the reason why was made clear when he said he wasn't liable as i had not paid for work. Shady.

On the 9th, the same part i pointed at and asked the service writer to fix (BEFORE it became a big problem) decided to disintegrate leaving me stranded. I knew my car was on borrowed time, but the service manager insisted we wait for a code (which bearings don't have).

I got stuck in a position i literally brought my car to them to prevent. and when called on it the service manager tried to say retroactively that "it wouldn't have mattered, we didn't have the parts anyway" which isn't the point. Maybe listen to customers when they ask for preventive repairs. Due diligence wasn't done here. I even asked the mechanic who witnessed me asking for that specific part to be replaced.. "hey, he should have replaced this when i asked on the 8th huh?" to which the mechanic nodded in affirmation.

I will never bring my car here again. if you ask for repairs, they will insist you wait till it fails and takes out other systems with it.
