After replacing the brake booster, they told me my brake lights wouldn’t shut off and that I now needed a brake light switch—something that wasn’t part of the original quote. Again, I was stuck and had no choice but to move forward. After two days, I went to pick up my Jeep and immediately noticed the emergency brake and traction control lights were on. Why this wasn’t caught before handing it back to me is beyond me.
They checked the codes and said the brake light switch must be faulty. The new part wouldn’t be available until Monday. I had to take my car home in the meantime—still not fixed. During that drive, I found that my cruise control no longer worked either, thanks to the traction control light being on.
I brought my Jeep back the following Thursday. That part was also faulty. Finally, they ordered the correct part from the dealership, and only then did all the warning lights clear up. While they didn’t charge me for the extra parts (which they shouldn't have anyway), I was given no kind of compensation for the massive inconvenience this caused. I had to inconvenience others just to get my son to school and get myself to work. They seemed completely unaware—or uninterested—in the stress and disruption they caused.
To top it off, communication was terrible. I had to constantly follow up just to get updates on my vehicle.
Use caution before taking your car to Shifflet Auto Care. My experience was full of delays, poor communication, and avoidable headaches. I won’t be returning—and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.
