I went to Sandtec for a second quote to have my timing belt changed, my transmission serviced,and a tune-up because my Chevrolet Trax had almost 110,000 mi. and the user manual said they were overdue. I had gotten a quote from the dealer and they wanted over $3,000. After Sandtec did their 30 point inspection, Jason informed me that my engine didn't have a timing belt, it had a timing chain and it was good for about 300,000 mi.! The dealer didn't tell me that and was going to charge me almost $1,400 to change it!! However, their inspection found the reason I had been losing coolant and the source of an oil leak. I was able to get those real problems fixed, the transmission and differentials serviced, and the tune-up for less than $2,000 and $1,400 of that was for parts. I was very impressed with their courtesy, honesty, and expertise. I'll definitely be using their services in the future.
