Completely unprofessional
The people that I dealt with there were either legitimate scammers or incompetent. My salesperson was Cody. He told me that they would honor a $500 dollar fully refundable deposit on a vehicle. I asked him to confirm this with whoever he needed to make that happen. He said that he did confirm it with his manager. I then patiently waited for my vehicle to be built and shipped for 2 months. Throughout the process I was never updated UNLESS I basically harassed them with calls and text messages because Cody would never follow up or respond back unless I stayed on top of his call backs. My issue was that they kept promising "probably next week." Then the next week. Then give it 2 more weeks....for 2 months. I understand if you don't know, but don't mislead your customers by saying next week (every week). Just be honest if YOU DON'T KNOW. "I don't know" is a better answer than laying out false expectations. After 2 months I informed Cody that I needed a refund so that I can use that to purchase another car from there. After that he completely went silent and refused to answer any more of my calls or text messages. When I called the dealership, I spoke to his manager and he acted as if he had no clue about what is was talking about regarding my refundable deposit. Said it was against company policy. He also said that Cody had never mentioned it or brought that up to him. Cody is a liar. I asked him to go ask Cody about this because he told me that it was approved by the manager...... the same manager that I was speaking to. I had multiple conversations and text messages regarding this. I would say the manager's name, but I cannot remember it. That manager then got really aggressive and started talking tough. Basically said that I wasn't going to get my money back. He really could care less what Cody said or didn't say. Implied that I was lying about the whole thing. Luckily, the next day I was able to speak with a competent manager over there, his name is Chris (manager). He understood my position and quickly got my deposit refunded to me. This experience was a nightmare and a big waste of time. At the end of the day I bought a car but not through them. Through all the misleading upsells that they attempted, lying, and tough talk from their manager, I decided not to buy from them and purchased my vehicle with another dealer. You would think that San Antonio Dodge was some sleazy used car lot the way they operated and treat their customers over there. Completely unprofessional. They lost an easy sale.
