Lack of important communication - pricing not adding up
I was referred to this company and called to explain my reason for service, I was not told that there is a charge just to look at the vehicle nor even what possibly could be wrong with the video and a rough estimate of additional minimum amount to expect to spend. I understand that there is a need to look at the car but other people I spoke with stated what they thought it could possibly be and what that range can roughly be. After being quoted $1220.00 over the phone and stated that was Labor only, we agreed to go elsewhere. When making arrangements to pick up the vehicle, we were informed that it would cost $90...had I known this, we would have never wasted a tow sending our truck there. We have a mechanic but he is on vacation so was hoping to get resolution sooner but after this experience we opted to just let the vehicle sit at his shop and wait for him to come back from vacation before we spend 1220.00 just on labor for a starter.
Now after we pick up the truck, the print out shows 1085.95 for labor and parts of which is cheaper than the price quoted. Yeah, not really a good experience especially since this was our first encounter. Definitely will just be without a vehicle before just committing to paying money when it doesn't add up.
My husband questioned why it cost so much and was told it will take 5 hours...1220 divided by 5 is over 200/hour...when questioned about labor cost, quoted attached different price. Nothing was adding up. So we chose to use another tow and be without a car instead of doing business with a company that couldn't make information communicated make sense.
