Bad diagnostic (way off.) Not worth your money , just go to the dealer and save your money!
Now the story:
I own a saab 9-3 concertible . Car had issues with stalling and a check engine code for engine misfires . I got there and asked for the spark plugs to be replaced .
After reading a few bad reviews I checked to box to ask me if the repair exceed X amount to please contact me .
I instructed Prestige European to 1st replace spark plugs :
After the spark plugs were replaced (NGK x4 ) I was charges $116.24 for parts (reasonable) $130 for labor ( wait installing plugs and clearing a check engine takes less than 30 min.)
In order to find the issue they conducted a fuel rail pressure test for $130 . Problem not solved.
Step 2 replace ignition coils. Brought the part and install them . (15 mins.) I was there while it was done.
Problem not solved.
Final diagnostic is replace the ECU for $865.55
At this point I know the Mass Air Flow could be at fault since the car is stalling on idle and feels like the air gas mixture is off .
After unplugging the MAF myself I notice the car is not stalling anymore but just loose power (which is normal without the Maf).
Solution : Replace the Maf. (Cost $110) installation.: Free (takes 8 minutes.)
Their hourly rate is higher than the manufacturer hourly rate (land rover.)
Why not go to the actual dealer that knows what they are doing ?
How can a saab expert not think of the maf when a car is throwing missfire codes ?
Bottom line , I was in the car industry for several years and I know mechanic and the cost of parts and labor.
If you don’t know cars I can imagine how this place will take advantage of you.
Word of advice : stay away , far away! Your wallet will thank you
