I’ve been taking all of my vehicles to James at Phoenix Autoworks for a good while now. No matter what the issue has been he has always figured out what the cause was and has always succeeded where a very long list of mechanics simply scratched their head and pointed at another idiot for advice. With this being said. There is no bull here. Just the truth. As of latest I took my 97 f250 460cc due to overheating. I had myself replaced the thermostat to a lower temp of 180 hoping to solve the problem. It didn’t. The radiator was only 2 years old and have never had this heat issue. Have an electric switch operated fan in front of radiator I turn on when sitting in traffic and for those blistering Arizona Summer days. Even with about 70/30 coolant to water and the electric fan on while driving and ac on low and it was hot. I surrendered and gave it to James and he dove deep. Took out thermostat again and change to 160 with minimal change. Hot engine had finished off the fan clutch. Knew it in my driveway from how lose it spun after getting home. Changed it out for a far better one that makes the engine roar and moves a whole lotta air. Helped but still not enough. Decided it was time to take a look at radiator for lack of better ideas. The replacement radiator came. Same in every important way except the fact it was about 10 pounds lighter than the one in there. The radiator was filled with garbage from the remanufactured engine I had purchased from ford dealership and installed from my previous mechanic (the reason why he is my previous mechanic). With the new radiator we now did 50/50 coolant and only need my electric fan once in a while while stuck in traffic. James saved my business and truck and me from getting stuck on side of the road. Thanks James!
