Owner John Perry is a third-generation mechanic bringing 80 years of automotive heritage, along with knowledge and integrity, to Perry Automotive.

Our two locations are NAPA AutoCare Centers and AAA-Approved Repair Facilities. We want our customers to feel appreciated and experience a positive visit every time. We won’t sell you something you don’t need.

Super Mechanic!
I have a lot of cars in my life and used a lot of different mechanics. None compare with Perry. These folks are the best of the best!! Jr gave me a quote and time time to complete the work. He even added extra parts and extra labor. Still price the same and finish time the same. I highly recommend them to everyone who is looking for a shop to get it done right the first time at a good price.

Used to be a good customer until I got repeated bad service
For simplicity, I just copied my Facebook post with all the information.

Perry Automotive Inc. in Elkhart and Mishawaka has screwed up. After having them repair several different things over the couple of years that we’ve had our Nissan Murano they have finally failed us. About four months ago we had some leaks that my BF wanted to be fixed. I asked him to take it to Perry where I trusted them to do the work correctly. They gave us an estimate on the leaks they found there were five they got in there to do the work replaced our power steering pump replaced a couple you know seals/gaskets. Anyway a couple of the leaks they found they said they didn’t need to fix. My BF paid the bill about $700 for a new power steering pump and like I said the other things. Well, I was driving my truck not a week later and I'm on the phone to them. My truck starts squealing when I was turning. I was like wtf was that. They told me to bring it by and they would check. It was low on Power steering fluid. That’s when they told us that we needed a new rack and Pinion for $1700. Anyways, my BF was like well that’s just something that’s gonna have to wait for a minute and we waited but it kept leaking. We couldn’t figure out why it was getting so bad when it wasn’t leaking BEFORE we had the pump replaced. Thinking it’s the rack and Pinion my BF gets into Quality Muffler and Brake shop in Osceola. Tony looked at it and you could see the power steering pump fluid coming out from around the pump, not the rack and Pinion. So we call Perry‘s we take it back they check it and said they saw nothing wrong with anything they did. So the guy thought it was a good idea to accuse my BF of messing with the vehicle. All he did was kept adding fluid so we could get by. Neither my BF nor I could figure out why they were so adamant about it not being their fault when we paid them to fix it and it’s guaranteed through them. I mean makes sense right?!

Anyways my BF was insulted and said he would take it elsewhere. He just knew it was something they did. NO low power fluid issues before they replaced the pump. They said didn’t see what was wrong even though he looked with another mechanic elsewhere. So he finally he was going to have Tony fix it whatever was wrong with it because he was done being screwed around by Perry Automotive. It literally cost is only $20 to have him connect a hose that they forgot to connect to some pipe that ran the power steering fluid through the pump and threw my vehicle. Can you freaking believe that?

Anyways after I found out that it was something so stupid and Perry’s wasted my time and was getting rude with us already. I called and talked to Jeff today and as soon as I started pointing out that they should back up their work and that they overlooked us he asked me what they should do rudely. I told him they should be responsible for their work and that they should pay attention to what they’re doing because it took them two times to miss it the first time and they actually fixed the pump and should’ve just been a given to put this on and the second time for overlooking it because they didn’t wanna admit they might’ve done something wrong. And then accuse Brent of messing with it. He was so defensive. He was #guiltyascharged
He said the day I came and got my truck where they didn’t see the leak that I was rude I was angry because they accuse my boyfriend doing something and I couldn’t understand why they were not backing up their work when we paid so much. We don’t even know if our power steering pump actually needed replaced or if they missed that leak and didn’t put the hose on the pipe problem solved $500 saved. And they had the nerve to accuse Quality Muffler of being a crappy place to go.
When I called Jeff out on some things he did not like it I told him I was going to go and give them a bad review if they didn’t admit to the wrong he didn’t like that I told him I should’ve recorded our conversation because he was accusing me of being rude and I wasn’t I was disappointed.
I asked Brent to take my truck to Perry Automotive because I trusted them they have fixed my truck in the past, did a good job so why would anything be different now? And how many times do I have to go back to them to have them fix something (they failed to do so) and then actually admit they did it? Does this sound like some Better business bureau stuff? I think they owe us an apology and some money back.
Sorry for such a long post but if I’m going to complain I want it all out there. #truthhurts #badcustomerservice

Staff was nice
I called in a panic, because my car was making awful noises. After explaining my concern I had it towed in. They were kind and professional and quick to keep me in the loop. The diagnostic is the part I have a problem with. They said my car needed a new transmission. My car is newer, and kept well, so I was not sold on that. The quote was nearly $5,700. I got a second opinion. The next opinion was not even a transmission related issue. So,... that upsets me. I wouldn’t feel able to trust their opinion ever again and unfortunately they will not get my business in the future.

This place Sucks!
I had my air conditioning fixed here. Cost me over 3,000 dollars and it still wasn't done right. I took it back and it turns out that they over charged the air conditioning and charged me an extra 140 dollars to fix it. I will NEVER take my vehicle here again. I would give this zero stars if I could.
