Clutch install
Got a clutch installed on my 92 ranger, on October 20th 2022. I received a call saying that it was ready for pickup, but suggest not driving it due to a worn input shaft bearing or some bearing they thought. When I picked up my vehicle as they said it was making a terrible noise, when I let the clutch out! I proceeded to drive it two and a half miles to my house, when the rear wheels locked up and it made a terrible noise I could then not get it into gear either! I didn't even use their complimentary tow service, as I did not want to speak to anyone up there anymore that day. I was highly frustrated so I told it to the house myself. Upon checking the transmission fluid, which it does indeed take automatic transmission fluid, even though it is a manual, it was completely bone dry 100%. I then proceeded to add two and a half quarts of fluid and a half a quart of Lucas transmission care. It now does not make that noise whatsoever when letting out on the clutch however my gears were damaged and ruined on the way home and I cannot get the truck,to roll more than a foot before locking up.

My father-in-law broke down in this vehicle upon me buying it and getting it serviced at Peebles. This all could have been avoided, if they had just checked the fluid on the main part that they had to completely remove that being the transmission. This careless mistake has caused me to have to now buy a completely new transmission, or have it rebuilt costing me $2,000.

Granite I'm sure the bearings were slightly worn as it is an old truck. But now it is completely ruined and locked up, when all they had to do was add 3 quarts of fluid to it. They made me pay for extra parts as well as a brand new flywheel, which I believe could have been resurfaced. That is fine, however this careless mistake has left me with no vehicle, and a $2,000 problem in which my entire truck is probably worth!

Will say Justin is a great guy, it was out of town or gone for a week when I had to pick up, but I have never had an issue with him, he is super respectful and has good communication. I hate I couldn't deal with him upon pickup. Dealt with a lady named Mandy who was super disrespectful and had not a clue what she was talking about, received five different phone calls from her having to run and get information, when I simply asked to speak to the owner, or have Justin's personal number. My wife gets all her work done every 3 months tune up / oil change, we will no longer bring our business, to Peebles!

I paid $1,200 for my transmission to be completely removed and have parts reinstalled, and nowhere along the way was my fluid even checked, or they would have noticed it did not have a drop! The services included or not, completely careless to have not checked over.

Older Chevrolet truck high high miles. Peebles takes the time to explain what’s wrong and very informative about what repairs would be the most bang for the buck. When I decided how to proceed, they workmanship was excellent. Mandy is always extremely proficient and kind. Daniels work is exceptional!

Courteous, prompt service.
We were traveling from Florida to Illinois when I realized I needed an oil change prior to finishing our trip. Our plan included stopping in N. Carolina to see my wife's sister and niece. Our niece was taking her car in for an oil change the following day. She asked if it would be possible to get my car in also. They could not have been more accommodating. Hats off to everyone at Peebles Automotive.
