Made an appointment for an oil change/regular safety inspection on a new Ranger we purchased from Parks a few months ago. The appointment was for 1:00 PM, we arrived at 12:45 and were immediately relieved of the keys and paperwork completed. We were going to wait, and the advisor stated 1.5 hours for the service, which was a bit excessive, considering there were not that many vehicles being serviced, AND it was a simple oil/filter change.
We stayed occupied in the waiting area, I walked around the lot, couldn’t find my vehicle, so figured it was in some other bay I had no access to.
Shortly after 2 (75 minutes since our arrival, our vehicle was driven into the service area we could see through the viewing window to begin the scheduled service. About an hour later, when I went to check status, a service advisor said it would be right up after the paperwork was completed.
Two hours for a simple oil change???
I had the truck in a couple months ago for installation of a brake controller. The job was supposed to take 2.5-3 hours, yet I was waiting in the lobby for 6 hours. So I detect a “pattern” here.
There will not be a 3rd time, as I don’t plan on returning for any reason... There are lots of Ford dealers within easy driving distance of my home, and one is just as good as another.
Besides, the Ford dealer that is closer to where I live offers a military discount on parts and service, Parks does not...
