Nimey's dates back to 1964 when we opened our doors as Utica's friendly neighborhood mechanic shop. Our strong background in the vehicle service industry helped us understand cars better - their maintenance, their inspections, their detailing - and paved the way for us to become the trustworthy used car dealership we are today!

Reliable and knowledgeable service
I brought my 2004 VW convertible in for a NYS inspection. Service was completed in a timely fashion. In addition to the inspection, it was recommended I do an oil change on my vehicle. Although I have very low mileage on my vehicle(7,000 original miles) it is 21 years old, so the oil age in relation to the mileage never correlates. I have done oil changes but it had been a couple of years so I was happy they reminded me the service should be done.

The only recommendation I would have for the service department is perhaps they use paper floor mats when providing service, as there was a large oily shoe print on my carpet floor mat when I received my vehicle back. I was able to shampoo the stain out when I arrived home.

Inspection
I was in for my annual NY State inspection. When I made the appointment I advised Katie that i needed to be back on the road by a certain time as my wife had a medical appointment. They got it all done within my timeframe and advised me of some things that may need to be done down the road. No pressure like "your wheels are gonna fall off if you don't do it now". I went out and started my vehicle and the key fob battery light came on so I went back in and asked if they had one, which the did and installed for me at no additional charge. That's why I've been a customer for 24 years.

Coincidence
My car was not leaking antifreeze when I brought it in for transmission repair. I made it less than a mile when I left. All I got from on the service manager and general manager was,”must be a coincidence and an extra $440. Bill for something that happened on their watch. I’ll be sure to never come back and will pass this along to everyone I know. What a bunch of crooks. Fred DelMedico

Fred, we're sorry this is your opinion. Your 2005 Ford Explorer was in for a transmission fluid flush, which doesn't require accessing the thermostat housing that was the source of the leak. Our tech showed you photos of the fluid leak, as part of our routine vehicle inspection. After you met with the service manager and the general manager, who explained that this was a coincidence, we still diagnosed the source of the leak without any charge to you. We also gave you a ride home so you wouldn't have to wait while we rushed to complete the repair in a timely fashion. We then dropped the vehicle off at your house to minimize your inconvenience, all at no cost to you beyond the price of the repair. We stand behind the integrity of our team and did everything we could to minimize the inconvenience to you. We wish you the best.

Quality and trusted service
Being a customer of Nimey's New Generation Cars for Nearly 15 years I rely on their trusted service and quality repairs. I recently had mechanical issues with a broken door latch on my Honda Odyssey. They were able to diagnosis and fix the issues with my sliding door with quality and care. I always feel as though I'm treated well and given well rounded service and care. Taking your care to be serviced is not always convenient in a busy life of having a family and career but the ease of night dropping off vehicles, online pay, lock box key pick up always makes it easy to get my car serviced that works around my schedule and this is always greatly appreciated.
