My mother went in for what have been a $500 job. The manager talked down to her, and lied to her from the get go. He called her “sweetheart.” He told her that it would cost $6k to fix because they didn’t make the part anymore.
The part is easy to find online, by a parts guy, or at an auto parts store.
He then told my mom he found the part for $800 (the part costs $300) and charged my mom a total of $1900. He didn’t give an itemized bill or explain what she was charged for or why.
This place saw my 70 year old mother as a mark.
Before this place came under the current Goodyear monicker, it was a reputable place. Now they take grandmas to the cleaners.
