Crooks
DO NOT under any circumstances do business with this dealership. They are absolute crooks, who are only interested in taking your money. My sister’s car was at their dealership for the last FOUR MONTHS. Although they were told that there was a problem with the engine when the car was taken there, it took them over three months to diagnosis the problem and submit the necessary information to have the engine replacement covered by a recall. Because of a bad engine, the starter and battery also went bad. The dealership acknowledged these issues were caused by the bad engine and then assured her that that the starter and battery replacement would be covered under the recall so she wouldn’t have to pay to have them replaced. However, they demanded that she pay $1,000 for the new battery and starter when she was FINALLY able to pick up her car. Imagine being without your car for four months while still paying the monthly payment, being assured everything was taken care of and you wouldn’t owe anything, then being slapped with a $1,000 bill before you can take your car home. Throughout the four months, she was on her own to figure out transportation because they didn’t offer a loaner vehicle until a week ago (i.e. she didn’t have a car for nearly four months), when they were close to being done with the car. Their communication was some of the poorest that I have ever witnessed; when she would finally get a hold of them, they would promise to call back on a specific day with an update, and never once actually called on the day they specified. The person she specifically worked with throughout this nightmare of an experience was Nate. We will be filing numerous complaints against this dealership, including complaints with the CFPB and BBB. I firmly believe that they will take advantage of you in any way possible, so I strongly advise against doing any business with them.

Stranded in Dubuque, Iowa and SAVED by McGrath
Is there a method that allows me to be very detailed (instead of being limited in space), to state how our GREAT Service Experience at McGrath Hyundai can be totally shared with all to read. I have always brought my car for service to where I bought it from. They know what my car needs. However, this last oil change was quite pricey. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for so I'm content overall.

Recall of trunk lock
The Trunk locking mechanism was recalls. I had no way of getting in my trunk. Plus the gas tank release cover would not work and the only way to open the cover is pulling on the cable that’s inside the trunk.

Safety first
At McGrath they put my safety first when it came to a recall I had to go in for. They could have sent me home and tell me that they will see me the next day and I could have potentially been hurt or worst. The only issue I have is that Uber and Lyft is not always a thing where I live and for some reason they do not have their shuttle available on a Friday. I cannot expect them to give me a loaner car, however, One of their service manager went out of their way to ensure I was able to get my vehicle back in a timely manner.

Unacceptable repair service
Five visits to fix one trim door molding, then be told your door is defective and probably needs a new door skin. Then told you can get another opinion from another body shop. It’s a new car under warranty only 4 thousand miles. I shouldn’t have to do anything but drive a courtesy car until it’s fixed by Hyundai.

Suzanne, I understand your frustration, and want to say I'm very sorry for the experience you've had with door trim. I am glad that we finally did discover what exactly was going on. Unfortunately it took too long to figure out that it was a manufacturer defect in the door, and I wish this was a easy fix though it is not. Travis mentioned he made your appointment at the other body shop for today, so hopefully they will have good news for everyone. We are trying our best as your dealer, and appreciate your business. I have contacted our Hyundai Representative as this is a Hyundai issue with your door.
