This is the first time I purchasing a car and I don’t have enough knowledge about what should I purchase or not.
The financial manager Nick lied to us about the contents and duration of warranties, and tricked us to purchase the extended warranty(he didn’t even mention the words “extended warranty” while we looking at the warranty contents. Instead, he told us we don’t have those warranties on our car so we need to buy it), which I got confused from his words and end up buying those warranties that I don’t think I will need for a new car. I was doing my research after I got home, so I find about his multiple lies. Also, he made the cancellation process a lot harder than it supposed to (we went back to the dealership the next day after we signing the contract, and we tried to cancel the warranty we don’t want. He told us we can’t cancel anything except the extended service warranty, and we have to cancel the extended service warranty after 30 days we purchased the car, not within 30 days. Which is a Big LIE).
Last Friday, we went to Mc govern Hyundai again. Nick is off on that day so I was able to applied for cancelation for all of those warranties I don’t need with the cancellation form directly from the warranty company in the end (I called warranty company at least 3 times during the week to make sure all the information I record is correct and I asked them to emailed me the cancellation form, which make the process a lot easier).
Overall, I am not happy about how the financial manager are not transparent and try to trick its customers to purchase things they don’t need. Also, they were putting the wrong insurance information on my car until I found it and told them to correct it.
Luckily, I successfully applied for the cancellation of warranties by myself ( I got the signature from the dealership and I sent out the warranty form to warranty company from my email). Since I didn’t have a hard time to cancel the warranty in the end with the cancellation form on my hand from last Friday, I give my experience a 3 star.
I hope after I applied for the cancellation, Mc govern Hyundai can successfully refund the money to my account in a timely manner. Otherwise, my experience would reduce to 1 star.
