Botched repair jobs and high costs
Our car was “fixed” on Friday, May 15. By Tuesday, May 19, the check engine light was back on. We took it back to M&G Auto because they had done the original repair. Before the first service, the car was throwing EVAP codes, after having it “fixed” by M&G Auto, it’s still throwing codes for the same exact reason. Originally they said all they needed to fix was a valve somewhere in the EVAP system that had been broken and stuck open, they charged us nearly $300 to fix just that valve. Now after bringing it back a second time in 4 days, apparently they want to say that the leak detection pump failing is the actual problem? They quoted us $338.57 to fix the leak detection pump, and apparently that was “discounted” because they had messed up the first time. We called another shop and were quoted $150, not discounted, for the same exact service. Honestly I feel as though M&G Auto should have fixed this second issue for free, because of the inconvenience they’ve caused us having to bring it back again, and I feel like we paid to fix the wrong thing the first time because they misdiagnosed the actual issue. But the cherry on top of “fixing” the wrong issue, and not actually fixing the car at all, is how they handled us telling them no, we won’t be paying for them to fix it again and we’re taking it somewhere else instead. They literally threw a fit about us leaving our car in their parking lot while their business was CLOSED. My boyfriend had to LEAVE WORK because they refused to allow him to keep his car parked there from 5pm-2am. Absolutely ridiculous. First you guys basically take our money for no reason, don’t fix our car at all, and now it’s inconvenient for YOU that our car is parked in your closed parking lot? Wow. The level of unprofessionalism you guys have shown is absolutely off the charts. I’ve never seen worse customer service IN MY LIFE. Any other business would’ve fixed their mistake for free and be apologetic, but not this place. We’ll never be back. SAVE YOURSELF THE MONEY, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
