We have bought 4 vehicles from here and Kyle has helped with everyone. He is very good at getting you the features you want. He explains everything and always asks if you have questions. If you do he will explain it again. When all said and done he even tells you if something comes up after you drive off you can contact him for help.We were in and out within two and a half hours. That included the financing and all. Treated very well. Thank you again.

Never Again KIA of Mankato
Bought a used car for my daughter from Kyle at KIA of Mankato a few years ago, never had any issues with that vehicle. Needed a car for another daughter so I visited Kyle again at KIA of Mankato. WE BOTH (Kyle) noticed a coolant leak and documented it on the paperwork to be repaired. Kyle assured me it would be fixed before we picked up the car. A month later no heat due to low coolant. Took it in for repair which was covered under the 30 day warranty. They “fixed” the leak by topping off the coolant (no repairs were performed). Two weeks later, no heat due to low coolant. Took it back in to have the repair that should have been fixed before delivery completed. I was quoted 5 grand to repair the coolant leak that was supposed to be fixed before we took delivery of the vehicle upon initial purchase. After several phone calls and attempts at negotiations KIA kicked in 500 dollars towards the repair. I have no doubt they inflated the price of the parts to cover the 500. Morale of the story, Kyle did not keep his word and KIA of Mankato does not honor their used car warranty. I spoke with Kyle after I was quoted for the repair and his response was “oh that’s the car I made no commission on” as he showed irritation that I was bothering him by asking him to honor his agreement. At KIA of Mankato the customer isn’t right, they are viewed as a “Piece of S***”. Good luck if you purchase a used vehicle from them.

Sketchy business ethics
The start of our experience at Kia of Mankato was great (shoutout to Paula) UNTIL it took a very sharp turn and quickly turned into the WORST customer experience I have ever had.

We drove 1.5 hrs specifically for a Kia Seltos that the dealership had in stock. After a test drive, we decided to purchase the vehicle. However, when reviewing the dealership’s offer for our trade in, it was significantly lower than expected. We asked if they could increase their offer, to which they answered no. We knew they wouldn’t adjust the price of the new vehicle, so we asked if they could throw in any extra incentives (i.e. add in the car protection plan they offered). They also said no, and our sales rep casually mentioned “I’m not sure our sales manager wants to make a deal with you at all at this point.” Because we asked a few questions to make sure we were getting the best deal, the sales manager would potentially refuse to work with us? That seems very sketchy/scam-like.

At this point, we asked to have a few minutes to discuss what we wanted to do about the trade in (whether we wanted to do the trade in or keep our current car and sell it later on our own). We did not express that we were not moving forward with purchasing the vehicle, for which we had already started paperwork on. During this time, another sales rep came over and took the keys for the vehicle – we thought they were letting someone drive it to see if they liked that particular model, not to potentially sell them the vehicle we were actively purchasing.

We decided to move forward with the trade in and agreed to everything the dealership put in front of us. We signed off on the deal, but were told us that we couldn’t move forward because the vehicle was on a test drive and the current driver would be given first priority on if she wanted to purchase it or not.

We were incredibly frustrated and asked to speak to the sales manager directly so he could explain how this could happen. Sales Manager Matt Strehlow said that he assumed we wouldn’t sign a deal since the trade in was lower than expected (that was never the case and was not something we ever mentioned) and that we had to wait until the current test driver made a decision. He never asked us if we would be not moving forward or let us know that if we don’t sign the deal quickly that the vehicle would be up for grabs. We were completely blindsided!

He continually asked for us to be understanding, but never apologized or took ownership of the fact that the whole situation was handled poorly and with a lack of transparency. Instead he made us wait 20 minutes for the other driver to return even though we had already agreed to their deal AND had already started filling out the necessary paperwork for financing.

This car was literally ripped out from under us because we took a few extra minutes to agree to the deal that was put in front of us and asked a few questions. It was absolutely ridiculous that this could even happen and I still do not understand how or why the second test driver was given priority when we had already started the process to purchase the vehicle and agreed to a deal before she did.

In reading some other reviews, it sounds like our situation at this dealership (particularly with the way Matt approaches customer service) is not entirely unique. So my 2 takeaways are:

1. If you ask questions or try to negotiate in any way, Matt will refuse to work with you (other reviewers have noted this as well)
2. The dealership (Matt in particular) does not take any responsibility for their actions or their poor customer experience. Instead, they just simply say “we’re not the dealership for you.” In this case, that’s probably true because we are looking to work with an ethical, honest and transparent dealer.

Matt’s lack of honesty and integrity throughout this situation has made sure that we will not be reaching out about any other available vehicles during our current search or any future searches.

If you want sot and let jake and camoroon grond on you to buy a buch of unneeded coverages, this is the dealer for you..
Xknt stop dont slow. Your wallet will be sorry, so many good Kia dealerships. Not this one.

Another great experience at KIA of Mankato!
I just purchased my 5th vehicle from Kia of Mankato! What can I say? I love that new car smell! I have owned a 2010 Rio, a 2010 Forte, a 2014 Sorento, a 2018 Sportage, and today, I traded that in for a 2022 Sportage. I have had nothing but excellent experiences with Kia of Mankato. Their sales staff are fantastic. Their service department has never let me down. Management are friendly and down-to-earth. The vehicle warranties can't be beat. And I love the vehicles! Thanks for all your help today August!

Not impressed after the sale
We purchased a 2021 Kia Sorento on Friday May 24th. Hunter was a salesperson and everything went smooth and very impressive.
The following Saturday (June 5) the Kia broke down on the side of the road on a hot 97 degree day :( From there we have NOT been impressed with Kia of Mankato and Kia in general. The Kia roadside assistance is an joke in rural Minnesota. I sat on the side of the road for 2.5 plus hours on a 97 degree day. Upon arriving at Kia in Mankato it was a struggle to get a loaner vehicle (mind you I was leaving them a 2021 Sorento, 7 days old with 160 miles)!
On Monday I received a call from Robbie in the service department explaining that my 2021 Kia with 160 miles on it would need a new transmission. I was told it would be a roughly a week. From that phone call on I was never followed up with, we had to make each phone call. Never once heard an apology. Our vehicle was complete in 12 days. Upon picking it up it was dirty, full of handprints inside and out, something all over the hood that a car wash did not remove.
Extremely disappointed in the service after the sale. It definitely took the excitement out of owning a new car and 100% took the trust out of Kia.

Best car buying experience ever.!!!!!!
I was valued and waited on hand and foot. Thanks Mackenzie (salesman)and Mr. Bennett (finance) for the non-judgemental, respectful, and painless process. They even went the extra mile and got refreshments even colored with my 5 yr old daughter. To the final paperwork guy( sorry I didn’t catch his name) but made sure I was totally protected by informing me of the gap ins. Which protects me and my investment. If you’re looking for hardworking and just good solid people BUY HERE !!!! If you don’t it isn’t going to be because of the people that’s for sure.

Amazing
Kia of Mankato is the amazing! The staff are all very helpful, no pressure and they cut the b.s to get you into the car YOU want asap. Best dealership I have ever purchased from. I'd give them more than 5 stars if I could!

MACKENZIE!
If you're looking to buy a car, go see Mackenzie! She is so funny and my husband took to her immediately (which doesn't always happen). Mackenzie took great care of us and made us feel very comfortable and had the hubby laughing several times. We did have a minor issue with the vehicle and returned two days later and the issue was repaired very quickly! Impressive! Mackenzie and your team ROCK!! Thank you!

Wonderful Experience!
My husband and I are very grateful for the wonderful experience we had from everyone at Kia of Mankato. We absolutely love our new vehicle and we want to give a special shout out to Issac who went above and beyond in helping us find the right vehicle for our family. Everyone was friendly, helpful and patient with us. We highly recommend Kia of Mankato and we will definitely be coming back when we need another vehicle.

The other night my husband and I were driving through the lot so he can show me the SUV he wanted. He said they have great finance options, but I needed to see that for myself. We looked online, and it said they were closed but the doors were open and employees were inside, so we went in. What I assumed was going to happen was they would tell me they were closed and to come back or what finance options they had and we would be on our way since they were technically closed. However Matthew Meyer, General Sales Manager, Sales women, McKenzie Reynolds, and Finance personal, Trae Hobson were extremely nice about us coming in late and took great care of us as we were buying our First Kia vehicle. I came in with certain expectations on price and they helped make sure that price point was met and made me feel extremely comfortable about our purchase. I would 10/10 recommend The staff that we worked with and Kia of Mankato.
