I brought my car into the shop after it went into " limp mode". No warning lights were displayed so I am sure diagnosis was a challenge. I paid $ 362.86 for a crankshaft sensor. When I got into my car the check engine light was NOW on. The garage sent me another invoice for $1134.69 for a new intake manifold and valve. I had a few questions/ concerns. Someone texted me from the shop this: "you do not have to do the repairs. That's just what the price will be if you want the check engine off ." WHAT?! What mechanic tells you to keep driving with a check engine light on? and since when does a NY State car inspection pass with a check engine light illuminated. I picked up the car and drove it directly to another repair facility. I caVery poor advice.
