Kristen, we appreciate you reaching out and sharing your experience. It sounds like you had a frustrating encounter where you felt your concerns weren’t properly addressed, and that’s not the kind of experience we aim to provide.
You called me this morning and told me that your 2015 Bucick Encore had Catalytic Converter and Evap codes. You were in need of a smoke test. With the information you gave me it sounded as if you had been to another shop, and I asked as your requests were very specific. You told me no, that you had researched online. I was listening to your concerns.
I explained that Catalytic Converters and Evap are two different systems and require different testing. We start this testing with a computer diagnostic to see what issues are found in each system and proceed from there. Diagnostic runs $177, this is not only hooking up the computer and seeing what it says. It also could entail testing O2 sensors (in the Catalytic system)to see if they are working as they should, as well as other items. I did agree that a smoke test (filling system with smoke to locate leak/leaks) would possibly also be needed for the Evap code, additional $147, but I would not know until 1st part of diagnostic was completed.
You then said you did not want to spend $177 for computer diagnostic. We agreed at that point we were maybe not the shop for you.
