I’ve been a loyal Toyota customer for decades, but Jerry’s Toyota gave me the worst dealership experience I’ve ever had.
I received an online offer of $15,400 for my vehicle and called to confirm everything with Jerry's Toyota. I spoke with Muhammad and let him know that I live 90 miles away and wouldn't want to come that far if were not going to honor at least close to their offer price. Since he couldn't confirm, I decided to look elsewhere and forget about them. Then, Muhammad called me again to let me know that his manager, Chad is very interested in my car which had only under 70k miles on it. Muhammad told me on the phone that Chad is very interested and is willing to cover my gas if I bring it and I am not pleased with their offer- all to assure me that they were really interested in seeing my vehicle.
I confirmed all the details with Muhammad and they arranged for me to bring the car on Saturday anytime before 7pm. I confirmed to make sure that Chad will be there so miss him. I drove 90 miles one way, taking time off work, only to arrive and find out Chad had left for the day—without calling or arranging anyone else to help.
Another staff member finally looked at my car and offered only $8,400, half of what they quoted online. When I asked for the promised gas reimbursement, they argued with me for half an hour and told me to “come back Monday.” They must have thought I'm so stupid to do that! I know car dealerships have no good reputation but how could they treat any human this way? The staff were dismissive, unprofessional, and disrespectful. At times, telling me that my arrangement was with Chad and they know nothing about it. All they had to do was call either Chad or Muhammad to confirm but they chose to frustrate me after having me put 180miles and same on a second vehicle just to come there.
They are horrible people at this dealership and I will continue to spread the word. I have a Toyota loyalist for decades. And have brought a lot of my family and friends into the Toyota family. This experience completely changed how I see Toyota. I wasted time, gas, and trust because of false promises and poor customer service. I’ll be warning everyone I know to avoid Jerry’s Toyota and any Toyota dealership. They are very horrible people who don't care about how people feel.
Do yourself a favor, whether buying or selling, and save yourself this kind of horrible experience. A word to the wise, they say, is enough. I have proof to show if there is any doubt (315-429-0379).
