Replacement of catalytic converter
Have been getting P420 error codes for a few years but they only really presented during winters (likely the alcohol rich winter mix gas and colder weather). Asked the team to check into it. They first looked at the O2 sensors and gas leak and confirmed those were not the issue. They called me because the converter is an expensive item, telling me what diagnostics they did first.
They could've easily just said that was my only option, so I really appreciate them looking into the simpler things first and keeping me informed. I ended up doing the repair which was a bit of coin, but buying peace of mind seems worth it with an honest and informative team. Also had the oil changed and even with ordering a specialty part the work was done in just over a day.
