Purchase of Hyundai Tucson from Hyundai of Escondido (Adjusted Review)
I purchased a Hyundai Tucson on Feb 7, 2022. The sales team of Alma and Sam did a great job of working with me to find a car that met my needs and met our financial goals. However, there were some glitches in the financial process that left me dissatisfied. After reading my review, Jose Martinez, sales manager stepped in and rectified the situation to my complete satisfaction. Thus, this review reflects the Hyundai of Escondido sales staff and process. BTW still take the time to review all of your sales documents before signing in detail. Thanks again to Alma, Sam and Jose.

Be Careful in Reviewing Financial Documents----Take Your Time
I previously wrote a review that focused on my sales team, Alma and Sam. They were wonderful and warranted the five stars I gave them. This review addresses an issue that came to light since I bought the car on 2/7/2022. I had not received my sales docs with all of the financial calculations. I was at the dealership on that day since 2 pm and didn't leave until approx 8 pm. Since I was tired and wanted to get home I did not pay as much attention as the financial person had me initial and sign the sales and financing contract. I had left the sales room where I had thought I was buying my car with a 5-year 1.9% loan with a down payment of $10,000 and a monthly payment of approx. $505. The $505 is a key. In the finance manager's office I saw a paper with a monthly payment of $505. I thought all was good. Again Alma was great and even helped me drive the car home late in the evening. At my home my wife signed the docs. I didn't get copies at that time. In fact, I just drove down to Escondido Hyundai today, 2/25/2022, two and a half weeks later, to get the docs. Our financing site showed that we had a six year loan, not the five years that I wanted, but the payment was the same. On review of the docs I found that a $4000 extended "Platinum" warranty was included. I had not wanted the warranty and I'm pretty sure in one negotiation session with the finance mgr that I had rejected it. But I was tired, the payment was the same, I figured all was good. Now I'm stuck with another year of payments. My word of advice is, TAKE YOUR TIME. TAKE THE DOCS HOME, OR AT LEAST TO A SEPARATE ROOM WHERE YOU CAN REVIEW AT YOUR LEISURE AND YOU CAN DO A PROPER ASSESSMENT. ONLY AFTER YOU'RE CONVINCED IT IS WHAT YOU WANT DO YOU GO BACK INTO THE FINANCE MANAGER'S OFFICE TO SIGN THE DOCS. Again, Alma and Sam were great on the sales side, I didn't do my best work on the finance side and got a deal that will cost me significantly more money. TAKE YOUR TIME.
