October 18, 2023 service was once again amazing, Service department was courteous and professional (as always) Jody, my service tech, took great care of me. There was several items that needed atrium but Jody explained why these needed to be addressed. Honest feedback on what repairs are needed and why Cookeville Tn Hyundai is always spot on!

Don't waste your time here. Drive to Knoxville
This Hyundai dealership will never see another dime of my money!!! I made an appointment to have a recall on my windshield wiper fixed on my 2021 Palisade a week ago. It was for 11:30am today. I arrived at 11:15am and walked into the service area to check in. I gave the guy my name and told him why I was there. He told me that they did not have the part in stock and I would have to make another appointment. I had just driven almost an hour from east of Crossville and I was not a happy camper to say the least. I asked why they did not call me and they guy stood there dumbstruck with no answer except I would have to come back. So I turned around and left and drove another hour home.

As I stated earlier there is no way I will ever spend another dime at this dealership. I buy a new car every three to four years, BUT IT WILL NOT BE FROM Cookeville Hyundai.

Excellent Experience
My husband and I went to Hyundai of Cookeville, looking for a used car. Our salesman, Michael Horn, was open and honest. He thoroughly discussed our options within our budget. We drove off the lot with a brand new Kona SEL and we couldn't be happier. Michael really worked with us, not only to get us the best deal within our budget but got us into our very first brand new car! Michael has earned our loyalty and our Kona SEL will keep us going back to Hyundai of Cookeville every time we need a car.

Excellent Service
Recently my 2017 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid started making a noise. First is was just a quick noise, but in less than a day, it was a horrible noise. I contacted Cookeville Hyundai and Jody got me a quick Service appointment. I realized soon that I could not drive the 55 miles to Cookeville, so I sent them a message with a photo of my dashboard and all the warning lights. Josh in the Service department contacted me and suggested that since it was still under warranty, I use Roadside assistance to have it towed. Sure enough, roadside assistance came and picked it up and delivered it free of charge. When checking my vehicle. there were also 4 open recalls on it. Josh telephone to tell me that the problem that was making the noise was a Hybrid Generator, and that since it was still under warranty, it was fixed for free. All the recalls were done and the fix was taken care of and not a penny spent. The work was good, and when I arrived at the Service Center, the atmosphere at the Service Center was professional and accommodating, even though they were full with much work due to the number of recalls. I can highly recommend Cookeville Hyundai for any service needs. I purchased my vehicle here brand new 5 years ago, and would be happy to do so again.

Didn't get my car fixed
Car should have been fixed under warranty for a known hyundai elantra engine problem.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I usually would not go into the specific details of a vehicle when replying to a review but as these reviews are public and used to judge our reputation I feel it is necessary in this case. 

The vehicle was brought in to us with the concern of piston slap and engine oil consumption. The technician inspected the vehicle and found metal contamination in the oil and that the timing is over advanced. Because of these findings the technician recommended to replace the engine assembly.

According to the information we were able to gather this vehicle has had 6 owners and inconsistent maintenance history. This vehicle was purchased at an auction  with only 300 miles less on the odometer than when it arrived at our dealership. The vehicle is not registered as well so I can only assume that it is owned by the independent auto sales company that you own and operate. Hyundai's warranty for a consequtive (non-original) owner is five years or 60,000 miles whichever comes first unless there is a warranty extension,recall or campaign for a specific component. 

Your vehicle shows to have had multiple previous owners and is over 60,000 miles and is not eligible for any warranty coverage. Even if this vehcile were closer to the warranty limits and could be considered for an exception of some kind that is only ever considered for consumers not independent auto dealers. It is not that I didn't "try to get it covered under warranty" but simply that the vehicle is outside of the warranty limits by over 40 months and nearly 20,000 miles. Also, there are no open recalls,campaigns or extensions that are engine related that were found when checking your specific vin against Hyundai's system. 

If I thought that there were anyway that your issue "likely could be covered under warranty" I would have tried to make that happen for you. Fixing cars is where our staff's livelyhood comes from. We do not care if Hyundai pays the repair bill instead of the consumer as long as we meet their guidelines. If we could have taken any inspection and turned it into an engine replacement paid for by Hyundai we would have glady done that not only for you as a consumer but also for the lively hood of our staff that earning a living by making repairs.

Warranty work for 3rd row seats.
The warranty work on 3rd row seats was handled in an orderly manner. I was pleased with the help of the service crew. The warranty of my Palisade is probably the best in the USA. The warranty is superior compared to the 36,000 miles of most vehicles. I formerly had a luxury SUV that does not compare with the Palisade. Hope Hyundai makes A hybrid Palisade. However I got 30.3 mpg on a trip to the mountains in North Carolina.

Hit or miss
They do a good job, just not always the first time you bring your car in. Still mostly pleased with the service, and they always correct any issues.

Great Service
I am very pleased with service department. They are very thorough even found where my car had been wrecked. I had that deer in headlight look when they told me it was wrecked. Someone hit me while parked. You could not see it until it was on rack. I appreciate all they do for me.

New Headrests Installed - 2020 Limited Palisade
Cookeville Hyundai ordered 7 new headrests for our Palisade due to the garlic smell that was coming from them. It took about 2 months for them to be delivered to the dealership. Last week, they installed the headrests very quickly and efficiently, and, so far there is no more smell. Once the weather warms up later this year, we will find out for sure if the smell is completely gone. We were very happy with the service we got from Cookeville Hyundai.

Service provider reached out
After having a major run around and felt lied to and taken advantage of, the service provider spoke with whomever he needed and got to the bottom of it, called and apologized and made it right. Initial experience was awful, but he fixed it and smoothed it over. Was very impressed with his dedication.

Miscommunication and lies
My husband takes my car in for me as he’s a mechanic and certified technician. He was told the vehicle after the oil change was balanced and rotated. I told him the vibrations went from front to back and it’s so bad I can’t even drive the car. He took it back they said they wouldn’t balance it because the tires were too bad. He took them outside and checked the tread depth and it was fine. But had to leave and said he would bring it back. He took it back later that week, and dropped it off. They called me and told me I need two new tires and they checked the tread and found they were fine and agreed to balance them. They tires only have 14k miles on them, they said they don’t warranty tires unless manufacturers defect. Tires have a tread warranty for 55k miles other than road hazard so if the tread is bad that’s a manufacturer defect and Hyundai would have to handle it. They didn’t want to and tried telling me tread isnt warrantied, well it is. The first service writer I dealt with gave me attitude and walked away and I had to deal with someone else when I asked them to provide tread warranty information. No tires should be replaced at 14k miles and it not be manufactured defect. It was just a ridiculous run around to just balance tires. If they were rotated and balanced as asked for every oil change we wouldn’t be here.
