Mr. Cook, Dave Gibson, owner of H.I.S. Automotive. Thank you for your response and review. Yes we charged to inspect your vehicle and amongst other issues found, you were told the batteries in your truck were bad. You asked if you could Supply your own batteries, to which I said yes. We never told you we would instrall them for free and you were charged $82.00 to install them, make sure everything was reset and that the starting, charging and electrical systems were functioning correctly. What you have failed to mention is that after your's and my conversation, I gave you back $83.00 in cash as a refund on the battery installation charge due to a misunderstanding that there would be a charge. We strive hard to be as fair, honest and accomodating to our customer as possible and would appreciate that when you give us a review that you tell the complete story. My door is alway open and if we can help in the future please don't hesitate to let us know.
Ms. Petralli, WOW and Thank you for the kind words and great review. If there are ways we can improve please don't hesitate to let us know.
Mr. Diaz; My name is Dave Gibson, owner of H.I.S. Automotive Services. Thank you for your response and review. First let's clarify that Autozone only has a code reader and does not do engine, drivetrain and computer analysis as we can and do with our Snap On Zuess and Solice scanners. When you brought your vehicle into our shop, 4 out of 8 cylinders were misfiring and this we detected with our scanner and identified which cylinders were misfiring. We also found that your MAS air sensor was malfunctioning, which if Autozone were a repair facility they could tell you will effect the performance on a Ford 4.6L engine. My technician checked all the coils, each cylinder has an individual coil, spark plugs, all engine sensor inputs and the computer outputs for fuel and air management on this engine. Yes we can check the timing and we can see whether or not the cam and crank sensors are in sync with one another which will effect the computer controlled timing on this engine. We also checked for fuel pressure and injector operation. In summary what we found was the MAS air sensor was heavily carboned and my technician cleaned the sensor and rechecked the engine for operation and after performing this service the misfiring four cylinders were now functioning and when the vehicle left our facility it was running on all cylinders. Now as far as my Service Advisor DJ, I can only assume you were upset because you had to pay us money to correct a situation with your vehicle that Autozone could not, and he is required to ask a lot of questions so that we can be sure we are addressing your concern as effeciently and proficiently as possible. So to say that DJ made you pay $251.00 for a simple Autozone scan is incorrect as we did far more than just scan your engine. Yes it cost's money to maintain a vehicle and I am sorry you are upset about that, but we did what You requested to help your engine run more effeciently. Thank you and I am always available should you wish to discuss this further.
Thank you Cndy for the great review and glad we coukld get your brakes straightened out.
