Great car…horrible dealership
First of all I want to say how much I love mazdas. This is in no way “buyers remorse”. I have wanted a Mazda for years, I just did not want to be ripped off when buying one. The men at Hawk Mazda are a deceptive bunch to say the least. I bought a 2021 mazda 3 select (which is a trim level above the base model). The advertised price was $23,275. (I have a screenshot of the exact vehicle advertised on their website). I sit down with the salesman Ernie and he writes up a draft of the numbers. It all seemed fine and so I went ahead into the finance department. I signed the paperwork and left with my new car. When I got home and looked over the contract my stomach dropped. The cash price for the vehicle on the contract was $27,200. Thinking that was a bit much [it is] I started looking at other dealerships and no Mazda 3 select package comes even remotely close to that price. Then I see on the contract $1,400 for a “mazda vsa”. Since the dealership had zero answers for me for three days about the extra $4,000 that was tacked onto my vehicle I decided to call mazda directly to inquire about this $1,400 mazda vsa. It turns out that this dealership (without telling me and without my consent) purchased me an extended warranty. I bought a brand new car with a warranty. I would have NEVER bought an extended warranty nor do I need one. So after three days of getting the run around from this dealership I was finally told that the extra $4,000 was for a “protective coating” that they put on my car for dings and scratches. How in the world they can tack on $4,000 for something as RIDICULOUS as that without telling a customer is beyond me. I’m sorry but for $4,000 I want my car to levitate to protect against dings. If you want a Mazda I would go elsewhere. They are beautiful cars but it is not a good experience to be railroaded by a bunch of hustlers. The amount of work I have to do for that money is sickening. We are all not fortunate enough to sit and swindle people out of $4,000. Stay away from Hawk Mazda or ANY Hawk dealership for that matter. I financed $28,000 and put down $4,000. I am in $32,000 deep for a mazda sedan a trim level above a base model. I know that these people respond to negative reviews so let me be clear. These people are liars and have not helped me one bit. If anybody would like to see my contract on my new overpriced car I will gladly show them. So do not believe any nice response.
