Gerber collision = “meh”, ok.
I was happy with the journey of the repair until the very end. They misplaced one of the car keys which I now have to replace, and they did not install the fog lamps. And when they were asked about the fog lamps, they blamed us, then blamed the tow truck, driver, then finally found them in their garage and told my wife that I didn’t want them installed, which was another false statement.

That ruined the entire experience. We are pretty reasonable and understand the challenges that a vehicle repair and body shop place goes through, but I do not like being lied to

The customer Dale wanted only safe items fixed on the vehicle, and to last his daughter through college.  The fog lamps were damaged, and would require replacement in order to install correctly in the front bumper, and being they are not safety related we did not replace them nor were they charged for fog lamps.  My estimator wasn't even sure the vehicle came in with fog lamps because during the check in photos the lamps were shoved back inside the bumper, and not visible therefore when the customer picked up he was not aware it even had lamps.  At that point he checked with the technician, and the tech said yes they are sitting on the rack, but could not be reinstalled.  The technician also mentioned how the shop had told him only to put safety items on the supplement therefore he did not add the fog lamps to the supplement.  The estimator grabbed the damaged lamps, and gave them back to customer at time of pick up, and explained how Drew only wanted safety items fixed therefore we did not replace the lamps.  However he did offer that if they would like to buy new lamps we would install them at no charge for them as a courtesy. As far as the key/keys go I actually spoke to Dale asking if they had any other keys or other Subaru's in case the one key we received when the vehicle was towed to the shop was the incorrect key to the vehicle.  We were then explained they had a new issue with the vehicle not starting due to an issue with the key and ignition.  From the moment the vehicle was towed to shop the shop only received one key, and no other key was brought to the shop.

Excellent in every way
You can learn a lot from seeing how thoroughly (or not) the shop technician examines the car, how completely (or not) they explain to you what they are seeing, how they speak to you (i.e., not talking down to you) and you can also tell a little bit if the shop works as a team. Gerber was absolutely the best of the four. Some were close, but Dylan was efficient, thorough, professional but very friendly and personable, patient with my questions, could describe the process from start to finish (hence the team work element) and gave me confidence that my vehicle would be in good hands.
Everyone I interacted with - front desk, gentleman who drove my car out to me when it was finished - they all were friendly, efficient, welcoming and just all around a pleasure to work with. Not surprisingly with a team that works so well and cares so much, the car looks perfect.

Every step was a positive experience for me.
They were friendly & respectful & took the time to completely explain everything I wanted to know. They all took pride in being fully committed to a highly professional top quality work performance. My repair job looks beautiful. The work was completed a day ahead of schedule. Additionally, my car was returned to me with an immaculate interior & exterior.
