Recall service
My G80 has a recall and I made an appointment in Nov for a Dec 20 drop off. I had other items like oil change, car rotation, cabin filter change, fix interior holstery. It is Dec 28 and I still have not gotten my car back. I would think that the recall part was ordered in advance since I made the appointment in Nov. My plans to visit my in laws have changed as I couldn't get my car back. Please confirm with the dealership in advance that the recall part is available before dropping off the car.

Best dealership experience ever
Just a great buying process. Faizan, my sales consultant, was super helpful, knowledgeable, and respectful. I received such a good price on my used vehicle (over 15% more than closest offer), I accepted that offer without negotiating further. Not too much wiggle room in today's market on the new vehicle, so that process was easy, as well. Kenny, the manager, was very helpful and hospitable. Dealership itself is clean, inviting, pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommend for your auto purchase.

A great experience! And that’s saying a lot with car buying…
We had the pleasure of working with Kevin Walker for the purchase and delivery of our new Genesis GV80. Kevin is exceptionally professional, knowledgeable and, even more valuable to us, genuinely friendly, honest and patient. Bonus points for being calm and patient with us.
We all know, and expect, that car buying can be stressful and combative - so it’s a rare experience to get through it with professionalism and respect from the entire staff at a dealership.
We started the GV80 search over the phone weeks ago with the Manager, Kenny Cresswell. When they found the exact car we were looking for, Kenny let us know immediately and handed us, the car and all of our questions over to Kevin Walker. We drove in (from
out of state) met with Kevin, test drove the car, asked a million questions and, hours later, moved ahead with the purchase process. Again, he was professional, respectful and easy to work with in a stressful situation. And his sense of humor was helpful, too! We highly recommend and suggest you see Kevin if you go to Gaithersburg Genesis.

So far, we love the car and will love it even more once we’re experts with ALL the bells and whistles~

First Time Genesis Owner
Trying out the Genesis brand for the first time. Build quality seems good. I just hope everything last the way that more brand recognized vehicles do (eg, Audi, BMW, etc). Experience at Fitzgerald was good. No pressure, upfront pricing, professional staff. You would be doing yourself and injustice if you didn't give them a chance to earn your business.

Review of Toyota / Hyundai-Genesis

Bottom line, you can’t trust any dealership with the name “Fitzgerald” associated it with it in Gaithersburg, MD. Sales associates, managers, finance department, etc. all LIARS.

I posted my 2019 Toyota Camry for sale on Autotrader asking for $29,500 for my vehicle. I was contacted by Curt the Sales Manager at Fitzgerald Toyota in Gaithersburg, MD stating that he would purchase the car for the asking price of $29,500 only if I brought it to him. I live in New Jersey and it’s 238 miles away, 4.5 hour trip one way plus tolls.

Curt gave me the contact information of sales associate Steve Yang and he confirmed the transaction before I made a trip down on Sunday 10/24/2021. I woke up at 7am and didn’t get back home until midnight, driving 474 miles and 9hours round trip.

When I arrived Steve inspected the car and had a different manager test drive the car as Curt was off that day. (pretty convenient or setup that way) They made me an offer of $27,000 and did not honor our agreement I had with Curt. If I purchased another car then they would increase the amount to $28,000.

They forced my hand to purchase a vehicle using dirty tactics. The Fitzgerald Genesis dealership is located right behind the Fitzgerald Toyota dealership. (Monopolies are outlawed for a reason but Fitzgerald seems to own every dealership in Gaithersburg taking advantage of everyone)

Steve Yang brought up a Genesis G80 I might be interested in and I followed him to the Genesis dealership to finalize the trade and purchase of another car.

I was met by Tony O’Brien and the sales manager of Genesis that was aware of the transaction from Toyota. Tony is a great guy and makes you feel like he’s doing everything he can to accommodate you with his limited knowledge. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to purchase or sell a car from Fitzgerald Toyota or Fitzgerald Genesis but if this is your only option to choose from. I would recommend Tony O’Brien to help you.

I selected a different G80 and asked Tony if the G80 comes with all weather mats for the car if they don’t they should be included in with the car the least the dealership could do? He said “he will look into for me.” I also asked about both leasing and finance options on the vehicle. He said “will do”

I was then introduced to Jake Finance Associate at Fitzgerald Genesis about 5pm and I was already exhausted. Jake just started going over the finance paperwork and I ask him are you even going to tell me how much it cost per month? He replies “didn’t someone already go over that with you?”

I replied no, he just proceeded to go over the finance paperwork, I asked him about the lease options and he replied” that will take much longer and it’s already closing time”
I’m at the point of whatever just get me out of here!

He tells me the % rate and it was more then double what the Genesis website stated. He replied “oh those rates don’t ever work”. I asked to speak to the manager and he stops typing on the keyboard and replies “you want me to get the manager and stop?” Yes get the manager I responded. He just starts staring at me and didn’t get up to get the manager.

Tony walks in and replies “the other cars don’t have all weather mats either and are not included with the car. I asked Tony to ask the manager to order me some and include it with the car. Tony replies “the car is too new and he asked the manager and that the mats are not yet available.”

Tony leaves and I ask Jake if when they come available would the manager mail them to me in New Jersey? He replies “the manager isn’t going to do that”. I ask again, would please ask the manager for me? He replies “the manager isn’t going to do that, I was in the hallway and asked him and he isn’t going to do that”.

Ahhhhhh so I’m talking to the manager I tell myself. That’s how the finance department works, if you want to speak with the manager they refuse to get them and start answering questions on there behalf as if they are the manager. What a fantastic dealership!

So I just signed the paperwork and just wanted to get home. I asked Tony about how to make the digital mph show up in the middle of the digital cluster on the center console. He replies “let me ask someone” he brings out 2 other people that are not the manager and nobody knew how the car worked.

Knowledgeable staff that likes to give customers the shaft! This should be the motto of all Fitzgerald dealerships! That’s why there is piss stains all over the park lot, Now it all makes sense.

Since I live in New Jersey I asked Tony to mail me the license plates and he replied “I need to email him sometime in November and will overnight them to me”

I wonder how that is going to go and I’ll have to give an update.

Funny thing is when I got home I was looking on the Genesis website and I found accessories page that shows all weather mats are available. Here’s the website link below. How disappointing being LIED to again!!!!!

Bottom line, you can’t trust any dealership with the name “Fitzgerald” associated it with it in Gaithersburg, MD. Sales associates, managers, finance department, etc. all LIARS. The sales associates act and do things without managers approval and treat customers like disposable commodities.

I honestly think an investigation should be conducted into these businesses for mistreatment and misleading customers into doing business with them.

I’ll never buy a Toyota or Genesis product ever again based on my experience with these dealerships. I hope Fitzgerald looses their franchise from all Automakers!

LIKE THE CAR, LOVE THE SERVICE!!!
This days is hard to find a happy middle from product and service when buying anything, having most of the time to compromise and get to choose one or the other.
But to my surprise, on my recent Genesis purchase, I got both!!!
A great product ( more than great, the car is amazing!!!) and great, above the norm service from the staff at Genesis of Gaithersburg. From now on I cannot go back to compromising and would not settle for less!!!
