Disappointed
I’m disappointed with how things turned out regarding my 2025 GV70 2.5 purchase. The experience started with a car that was supposedly on the truck and would be delivered the same day. However, I was later informed that it was no longer available, and they offered me a different one. I specifically asked if it had the same configuration, and they assured me it did—just a different color.

Then, the situation shifted again to a third car, which they claimed was available immediately. Trusting their assurances, I agreed, but this turned out to be a big mistake. The final car had an MSRP that was $2,000 less than the original one. Whether this was intentional or not, only they know.

For a brand that aims to compete with top luxury cars, this experience felt far from premium—it was more like buying a Hyundai.

Avoid this dealship
Good customer service when you are looking to purchase after they get your money poor customer service. I bought my car in April and still need my title paperwork. My 90-day tag has expired and the dealership does not care. They will not call you back to give you updates and get upset when you call them daily because I am paying for a car I cannot drive. They ignored my phone call, and then I called back on another number, and they answered. Please don't take the chance on this dealership if you have options to avoid at all costs.

Worst dealership. Do not go here!
The worst service manager Ida and worst dealership I have ever dealt with. I have had issues with my Genesis since December and taken it in two times now and both times they tell me nothing is wrong with it. Well it has been hesitant to start on multiple occasions and I feel a new car shouldn’t have this issue. They can’t figure it out and have been nothing but rude trying to help resolve the problem. After two attempts with the car being in the shop I decided to take it out and filed a complaint with customer care and they will be dealing with the issue now. I will be taking the car elsewhere to figure the problem out. No one should ever go deal with the people who work at this dealership.

Genesis of Elgin provided a welcoming environment from the beginning to end I contacted them via phone with my specifications of what I was looking for and when I came in to view the vehicles, my sales person David got straight to the point and was very helpful he didn’t waste my time. He was there to assist and helped wherever he could I truly enjoyed my experience

Very Rude Manager Jimmy
I came with a friend in for a 2018 Hyundai Genesis G80 Ultimate. The salesperson Steven was friendly and happy to work with us for a good deal. He presented a payment plan. However, the Internet price and extra costs amounted to more than I was pleased with—close to the MSRP Price. Some were outrageous such as D&H $500, government $300, AIP $2999, License & Doc $369 and others fees. He subtracted off the coverage and doc & license, but couldn’t budge with the D&H fee which I don’t know exactly what is for besides paying for the car to sit in the lot.

We did a walk around once more and showed him defects of the vehicle and gave him a fair price.

With hopes on making a great deal, I was disappointed when the manager Jimmy took over and compared other G80’s that weren’t comparable at all (those had a much lower mileage). He rudely refused our offer especially when the car had significant rash burns on all four wheels, 60k miles, a car accident, extensive cosmetic scratches all over, and tires needed to be replaced, expiring warranty and tire in the trunk was missing. He got so angry when we mentioned the damages on the car and told us, “This isn’t the place for you!”.

His refused to negotiate and quickly disregarded all of these factors that comparable vehicles didn’t have. Extremely rude and I would not go back to this dealership if you just want to pay sticker price and pretend nothing is wrong with the car.

Advice for Genesis: Separate Hyundai and Genesis dealerships, or train your employees how to behave.

Nice and Friendly Staff
Always a pleasure to work with Steve Johnson (Sales). He’s personable and understands my position without trying to oversell and being pushy. I highly recommend working with Steve if you are looking to purchase/lease a vehicle.

Highly recommend
Wow, I didn't think I could have a good experience at a car dealership, but Elgin Hyundai made it possible. After the insulting experience I had at Gurnee Hyundai, I decided to try Elgin Hyundai and I'm glad I did. Lou was exceptional all around. He made me feel welcome and went above and beyond to get me my brand new Genesis G70. Nick in finance was also a pleasure to work with. The people here really treat you like family. I live about an hour away from this dealership, but the drive is more than worth it. I would purchase another vehicle from them in a heartbeat. If you're looking for a good, honest dealership (there aren't many around anymore) definitely check out the Hyundai in Elgin, you won't be disappointed!

Very little time at dealership
All of the conversations was had from my home, all paperwork was prepared and all I needed to do was to come in and sign and drive. This is how this should be done.
