I purchased a 2023 GV70 last year
At Oscar Leesers Dealership on Montana Ave. I was initially skeptical about buying anything from a dealership connected to Hyundai but the vehicle looked good so i bought it. My worst fear came true when I recently went in for service and they told me They were no longer a Genesis dealer and could not order Genuine Genesis parts. Why in the first place would they sell Genesis vehicles without securing that franchise. I feel so stupid and taken advantage of. Supposedly they are working on some sort of we'll get parts from another dealership and take care of everything through 3rd parties. No way I'm driving hours or having Hyundai mechanics not really trained in servicing Genesis. I've made the decision to get rid of the GV70 and purchase a Buick from a company that's been around since 1903. Total bs from Oscar Leesers dealership. Fraud in fact. I will recommend not to buy from these con men. Also I noticed how their management treated their employees with no respect. They seemed nervous around the bosses. Management acted like they were better than the people doing the actual work.
Totally pissed off. Beware of this dealership. I thought Mr. Lesser was a man of integrity but apparently I was wrong. Thank you

Genesis Recall
I bought a 2022 Genesis G80 approximately a year ago from the Hyundai dealership on Montana. This car was a loaner, so I am officially the first owner. Just recently I received a letter in the mail about a Recall on my Genesis G80. I called the service department to make an appointment. They scheduled me for two weeks out. Then I went to the dealer, the service department yesterday (6/25/24) to see if they could set me with an appointment. They said it's nothing they could do to address the Recall. They said they no longer sell Genesis vehicles. I could say a lot more but I will stop here. This was a very disappointing experience.

Not a Genesis Dealer
I own a 2023 Genesis G80 that I bought in AZ because I had no confidence in the EP "Genesis Dealer". I got two recall notices from the company. Both times the EP dealership said they had the part but did not have it when I went out there. And they did not apologize for their screw-up. (See 6/12/23 post)
I have two scratches on the bumpers that I wanted to have fixed. I went to Caliber Collision for an estimate. I was told they could not do the work because they (and every other garage in EP) could not get the materials because Oscar Leeser's "Genesis of El Paso" had been decertified and was no longer recognized as a Genesis dealership - - and, therefore, could not receive or be a conduit for Genesis parts and supplies. (Per Genesis Customer Care - 844-340-9741 and the Customer Service Agent - 714-912-0360.) This did not surprise me as their combination of incompetence and indifference had previously frustrated me.
So, the Customer Service Agent told me that the answer may be to put my car on a flatbed and haul it to a dealership in the Phoenix area - - for two minor scratches. Really!! I suggested that Genesis could solve the problem by sending just a little bit of paint to a body shop in EP. I am not sure what is going to happen.
This problem exists because Oscar Leeser's "Genesis of El Paso" failed to meet the Genesis organization's standards. Of course, that is why I bought this car in AZ, in the first place.

Insult to Injury
Last year I took my vehicle in for a maintenance update, and was told by a rep that the dealership in El Paso (as well as Albuquerque) were "decertified" for not meeting minimum Genesis industry standards and they were no longer authorized to represent Genesis or to maintain those vehicles. After having gone through several other disappointing appointments, I gave up on ever thinking my Genesis G80 will ever be serviced properly by Genesis/Hyundai. Today I received an email from "Genesis of El Paso"....that they miss me, and that I need to "come back" to have "scheduled maintenance"......Seriously? Just tried to look up "Genesis of El Paso" on the internet and it doesn't exist, unless I default to Hyundai. Even the website "www.genesisofelpaso.com" doesn't work. Who are they kidding?

DO NOT COME TO THIS DEALERSHIP!
I went in October 1st of 2022 for a couple of issues on my 2018 G80. It is almost 10 months later, and my parts are still on "back order" for my sunroof and I can't get ahold of anyone to help me for the LIFE of me. I also went in for Apple Carplay issues, as it disconnects randomly when hitting bumps of any kind. I was told there was no issues at this visit, but my Apple Carplay still disconnects all of the time and it is super annoying. I've left several messages for my service advisor, as well as for the parts department to just give me an update. I need to bring it for AC issues, but I will not drive down there for that unless I can get everything done in the same visit. It is a 5 hour drive to El Paso from where I live, and I have a feeling when I go down there for my AC they're gonna have to order parts for that as well. And who knows how long those will be on order. I sincerely wish I could just get someone to talk to me and give me an update. Parts answers once in a blue moon, and when they do they don't even let me finish my sentence before saying it's a service department's jurisdiction and then I get transferred to a voicemail. Be wary when going to this dealership for service, unless you live in the El Paso area where you can go up there in person and get some help. Otherwise, you're better off going to another dealership or not getting your car in at all.
UPDATE: As of 12/11/23 my sunroof is fixed, but they broke my sunroof cover. Contacted corporate after trying to reason with my service advisor Jorge and the Service Manager (who NEVER answers the phone!) with no results, and was told they'd cover 50% of the cost to fix it... even though this dealership broke it. Ridiculous. Save yourself the time and money and DON'T buy a Genesis. Insane how unappreciative and rude this dealership is, guaranteed you will leave feeling like absolute trash every time you pick up your vehicle from service. Hope this helps and I hope this review can save others from the feeling of complete regret after buying a Genesis.

Two Service Screw Ups
In early May I received a recall notice for the seat belt pretensioners on my 2023 Genesis G80. I called, described the issue and got an appointment for May 12. When I got there Cynthia told me that they did not have the part. (???) When I asked why that had not been clarified when I made the appointment and why I had to come all the way out for nothing, she said, "We have to get the VIN anyway". I told her that I could have provided that over the phone or via text.(???)
When I did not hear anything for almost a month I called again and the third person I spoke with told me they had the part and I made an appointment for June 12. About an hour after a disorganized check in process, I was informed by Angel Ontiveros that they did not have the part but they would call me when it came in. (???)
So, I made two 40 mile round trips for nothing. And neither of the two "Genesis" employees apologized or expressed any contrition for the screw up.
I bought this car in Arizona because of previous unsatisfactory experience at the El Paso operation - - with respect to inventory and product knowledge.
I can't wait to see what happens the next time I have to go out there.
Overall, it was a great buying experience. It started off as an eventful day with my car dying early that morning. I had it towed to the dealership, which I subsequently began negotiation for a trade-in. The negotiations went as well as could be given the circumstances of my visit. We really got straight to the point, which was good. There was no long drawn out back and forth, we came to a quick agreement. They took my car at full value despite the car's condition, which was huge. I owed 24k on the trade-in and in return, I purchased a new Genesis GV80 at below value price. The transaction couldn't have been better, I walked away with a new vehicle, which allowed me to go about my daily business uninterrupted. The only down side to the experience was that I was at the dealership all day from 8 am to 4 pm. Other than that, it was one of my better car buying experiences.
THE TOTAL EXPERIENCE IN THIS PURCHASE WAS EXCEPTIONAL. THIS IS THE FORTH VEHICLE I HAVE PURCHASED FROM THEM AND I HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY SATISFIED WITH ALL FOUR. IN FACT EACH PRUCHASE WAS BETTER THAN THE LAST.
